Lipari is linked to Milazzo and Messina by the Liberty Lines fast-ferries that have many daily runs. Alternatively, you can also take the Siremar ship from Milazzo from Naples where it runs a few times a week. Connections to the other islands of the archipelago have timetables that change throughout the year, so it is always a good idea to check the official websites of the shipping companies. There are also connections to Palermo, Reggio Calabria and Vibo Valencia.
The nearest airport is Catania Fontanarossa from where you can reach Milazzo with the Giuntabus line services, which run daily without the need for a reservation, and with the Alibrando shuttle service, which must be booked at least one day in advance. From the airport, one can also reach Milazzo by train via Messina but it takes much longer.
Once landed on the island, the Villa is 1.3 km from the port and can be reached by shuttle service from the port, taxi or for the more sporty even by pidedi!
The best way to get around Lipari is by your own vehicle or by renting a scooter. In August especially, you will not have the problem of parking and you can stop at the various viewpoints of the island to take beautiful photographs!
The island of Lipari is not a hit-and-run destination but really offers a lot of things to see and do and, above all, should be visited in peace and quiet when it is not too crowded to fully enjoy its beauty.
