劳伦斯堡 · 整套民居 · 3室4床2.0卫 · 可住7人 · Rent entire 2nd floor Historic 1895 Victorian
You will step back in time while staying at this charming, turn-of-the-century Queen Anne Victorian. The Garrett House, on the National Register of Historic Places, was built circa 1895 by the mayor of Lawrenceburg and sits only one block south of the newly renovated downtown Lawrenceburg square. The rental has a private entrance which leads into an inviting parlor area, up the grand original staircase with beautiful stained glass windows, to the entire second floor of this historic home.
What a beautiful place this is. Each bedroom is so unique and special that we had trouble picking which ones to use. We enjoyed spending time on the balcony as well as the table in the Sage Room corner (felt a bit like a tower room). We also took advantage of the claw foot tub. This is a well cared for house, pristine. Unfortunately the town doesn't live up to the house, not as special.
This was by far the best Airbnb experience we have ever had!! The place was absolutely gorgeous and the beds were the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. So comfortable in fact that I am changing all my mattresses to the ones she has at this house. Stephanie was beyond helpful with everything we needed and more. I can’t say enough great things about this stay!! We will definitely stay here again!!
A wonderful stay in such a beautiful place with beautiful surroundings! Stephanie does a wonderful job with attention to all the details! Loved the goodies basket! A really special touch!!
Charming and quaint space with all the amenities we could’ve asked for! Highly recommend
The Garrett House is an important historical landmark in the city of Lawrenceburg. It served as home to the mayor of Lawrenceburg, as well as Dr. Gallaher's clinic, a local residence, retail location, event venue, and most recently a coffeehouse. Chuckaboo Coffeehouse is located within the first floor of The Garrett House and offers specialty coffees, teas, locally made pastries, and breakfast sandwiches. A $15 per night voucher for Chuckaboo Coffeehouse is included in your stay at The Garrett House Monday-Friday. Guests who stay Saturday or Sunday night receive a breakfast basket with coffeehouse treats. Please see Chuckaboo Coffeehouse FB page for most up-to-date hours and info. The Carriage House (located in the original attached carriage house circa 1910) is a soon-to-be-open venue offering locally made products and turn-of-the-century sweets.
One block north of The Garrett House you will find the city square with a statue of perhaps Lawrenceburg's most famous resident, David Crockett. You can visit the log cabin David Crockett once lived in directly across the street from The Garrett House. One mile west (a short 5 minute drive), you will find David Crockett State Park. Over 1300 acres with lakes, waterfalls, paved and unpaved trails, a fabulous restaurant, David Crockett museum, and even a small aviary. The Park is a favorite with visitors and locals alike.
On the square you will also find the James D. Vaughan Gospel Music Museum, Lawrenceburg being the hometown of James Vaughan, the father of Southern Gospel.
The 1950 art deco Crockett Theater is a short three block walk, passing numerous antique shoppes, specialty boutiques, and restaurants on the square.
Approximately 7 miles north (a short 15 minute drive) you will find the 100+ Amish family community within the town of Ethridge, TN. One of the largest Amish communities in the country, they sell numerous homemade goods including leather products, baskets, rugs, furniture, canned goods, baked goods, as well as farm-grown vegetables. They welcome visitors to their farms Mon-Sat, and horse-drawn carriage tours are available. (No photos please! The Amish religious beliefs strictly prohibit photographs).
Lawrenceburg is located approximately 80 minutes (80 miles) from downtown Nashville to the north, and approximately 45 minutes (40 miles) from Florence, AL and Muscle Shoals area to the south. Nearby are also the newly opened UT Southern campus in neighboring Pulaski, TN and the newly opened Columbia Community College campus in Lawrenceburg. Southern Tennessee Regional Health System provides inpatient and outpatient services including multiple medical subspecialty offices and a 99-bed hospital located 1.5 miles from The Garrett House.
