The place was nice. It was a very quiet neighbourhood. Shops were within 15-20 mins from the house. Overall it was a very decent stay
what a great place to stay. we came over to watch the west cork rally. Great location. Great facilities. cracking shower. Great for any large family going away. Ida's communication was fantastic. can't fault our stay in anyway at all. Will be back next year.. !
A beautiful place, quiet and tucked away. Great for our family group of 5. A quaint little spot!
The property is located by the Argideen river, rated as one of the best for sea trout in the southwest of Ireland, offering relaxed day and exceptional night fishing. Local supplies can be found next door at the 'Creamery', the Farmers' Co-operative. A couple of miles away is the village of Timoleague which has the famous Abbey, local shops, and good eating at Monks Lane restaurant. Beaches include Harbour View (great for dog walking and kite / windsurfing) and the very scenic and secluded Dunworley. Courtmacsherry is a few miles further around the estuary either by car or as a beautiful walk and offers deep sea fishing and whale watching tours as well as a selection of traditional pubs. Further afield are the towns of Clonakilty and Bandon, 15 mins by car, with Kinsale some 30 mins away. The city of Cork also offers an excellent day out and is in easy reach, some 40 minutes drive. Other local attractions include golf courses, cycling, horse riding and a abundance of Irish history.
A car is recommended to make the most of the location with most villages and towns having free on street or dedicated parking areas. Bicycles can be hired in Courtmacsherry for those who like to cycle. When driving to Cork, parking in the city centre is expensive although there is a good park & ride service available.
