Spacious annexe apartment in peaceful surroundings, with one double bed and 1 single bed in the 1st bedroom and a double sofabed and a single bed in the lounge / 2nd bedroom, where there is also a TV and MEO satellite box. There's a great little kitchenette / dining room with a coffee machine ( coffee/selection of teas provided). A stunning bathroom with free standing bath, a shower and bidet. A sunny balcony with access to a shared garden with sun loungers, BBQ and outside dining area. There is a lovely shared garden with sunbathing area equipped with sun loungers and table and chairs for alfresco dining. There is also a barbeque and kitchen area for you to use and enjoy.

The views are beautiful and the animals are adorable. The space was slightly different than I had imagined based on the listing pictures. It is a large home with rooms and a hallway blocked off rather than a stand alone apartment. The hosts live downstairs and heat the upstairs bedroom through their space. It was very cold at night when I was there - and only one space heater that says not to use at night. The first night the host provided heat in the bedroom but the second night I was very cold with no heat (I realize this can be a rural Portugal situation but have always had heat options). I ended up leaving early for a few reasons. Overall, the setting is beautiful and I am sure it is lovely when it is warmer in the evenings.
We had a very enjoyable two weeks at Natalie and Simon's place. The sunsets were incredibly beautiful given the unobstructed views right from our balcony. The apartment is spacious and comfortable. Our hosts made sure we were cosy and warm by heating the place for us when we got home from our daytrips in the evening. We also had a steady supply of fresh eggs, oranges and more. We recommend this place to anyone who appreciates a slower paced rural lifestyle, perfect for rest and relaxation and exploring the area.
Wonderful hosts, always ready to help. Beautiful location with amazing views. Accommodation consist everything you need for a pleasant stay. Hygiene at highest level, comfortable bed, mosquito nets on the windows, kitchenette, very good shower…Amazing value. We truly recommend.
Excellent relation price/quality. Natalie thought about all the basic house amenities a host would need. Everything was clean, organised. The small terrace can be lovely for sunset or breakfast. Natalie was always responsive. They also provide a list of local restaurants and other points of interest which are very complete and include some basics (coffee, tea). The surroundings are calm and close to some small villages which is always interesting to walk and meet some locals. Overall a fantastic experience for the prices announced.
By far one of the best stays Ive had with airbnb. The hosts are fantastic. The apartment was perfect in every way and the area is stunningly breathtaking. I had a very late check in which I was completely accommodated for and I was greeted and shown to the apartment which was spotless and really spacious. The views all around are amazing especially from the balcony where I had many of my meals. Natalie and Simon are truly super hosts. My stay here was so relaxing and comfortable I wish I didnt have to leave! I would stay here again in a heart beat. I highly recommend anyone visiting Portugal to stay here as you will not be disappointed in anyway.

Central Portugal has so much to offer away from the overly touristic coast and large cities. if you enjoy mountains, lakes and the outdoors then this is the place for you. Charming schist villages, olive groves, small vineyards and some of the friendliest people in the world are all waiting for your visit.
Our nearest town is Cardigos, which has 2 small grocery stores, cafes and 2 good restaurants. There are also numerous river beaches within a 10-15 minute drive, including Cardigos and Pego Das Cancelas which all have dedicated bars, toilets, barbeques and picnic areas. Plus lots of opportunity for hiking and leisurely walks around the beautiful, unspoilt countryside.
We are nearby the Zezere and other rivers which are perfect for fishing and watersports or just packing up a picnic and heading out for the day.
A car or motorcycle would be necessary to get to the nearest shops, although there is a nearby taxi company that can be used.
A bread van comes to our door 3 times a week which sells loaves, rolls and cakes from a local bakery at very reasonable prices. We can also provide you with fresh eggs from our chickens, olive oil, oranges, lemons and a variety of fresh, home grown vegetables from our garden (depending on the season) for a small donation.
