Lovely stay, - 15 min walk to downtown Government Camp. A cozy house with lot's of space for multiple families and safe for kids. Would stay again!

BEWARE! You are not dealing with the home owner, but a rental agency. When you call the number provided you are talking to some one who is 300+ miles away. Dealing with problems took time for responses. Conflicting information from the person you are talking with on the phone and the actual services or lack there of. Instructions we generic not home specific. We had to wave down the snow plow to clear the driveway. The driveway in on a hill, narrow, barely fits two cars. Granted we had a lot of snow while we rented this place. Our car slid down in park position, across the street and into a snow bank. Incredibly scary for the 5 year old still inside. Took another 24 hours to get some gravel. We had to park off sight.

The house was clean and well equipped. We cooked all meals easily in house. The kids loved the foosball table upstairs. The layout of the house is convenient and efficient. The build quality of the house is great. The firewood and starter were appreciated for drying wet gear- especially since there is no dryer in the house. I neglected to notice that in the amenities. Not so serious issue: The beds upstairs were a little soft and saggy in the middle. We do prefer firmer beds than most. Slightly serious issues: I emailed Mt Hood the morning of the rental to confirm that the lock was working and we could get in. They said everything worked. We arrived to find the lock not working. We believe the door is hung in a manner that puts prohibiting weight on the mechanism. The snow shovel was not attached to the handle. We got 2 feet of snow in two days. We did the best we could to rehab the snow shovel. This was incredibly silly and inconvenient and made getting cars out hard.

Cabin is really really lovely. Cozy, good atmosphere, charming, convenient. That’s being said there were a number of issues like the door lock not working. We were stuck out in the snow, at night with a kids and a baby waiting to get into the house with a jammed lock. They eventually were able to get us a key from one of the lock boxes but they never followed up on the issue or sent anyone out to fix the door. I messaged them Airbnb and got no response until I followed up with a second message 24 hours later. Cabin is owned or managed by some corporation that could do better with their customer service.
