Welcome to our cosy Quince cottage in the heart of Snettisham. Tucked away behind a small street, Quince cottage offers a comfortable and relaxing retreat just a stone’s throw from the centre of Snettisham. A perfect base to explore the natural surroundings, have brunch at the Old Store cafe/bakery or enjoy a delicious dinner at the local Rose & Crown country pub. The cosy one bedroom cottage comes fully equipped with charming interiors, authentic brick wall around a wood-burning stove, latched doors and some original wood floors. Passionate about the environment we recently refurbished the property to try and reduce its environmental impact. This included insulating walls, painting surfaces with eco friendly VOC-free paint and installing a new more efficient heating and hot water system. The downstairs living room is fully furnished, wood burning stove, good fibre Broadband and flat screen digital tv with Freeview, Netflix, iPlayer and other apps. The sofa opens into a single bed with a good quality mattress. Please let us know if you would like to use the sofa-bed so we can provide the additional bedding. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and Nespresso type coffee-pod machine. There is also a downstairs utility room/cloak-room with washing machine, dryer, toilet and sink. The upstairs bathroom has a toilet, shower, sink, hair dryer and shaver socket. The spacious bedroom has a king size bed, side tables, ample hanging and shelves for clothes, iron and ironing board. The cottage has a small front garden with a table and two chairs. The garden is near the cottage entrance and parking and not very private as is visible from the entrance to the other neighbouring cottages but on a sunny day it is a nice space to relax, have lunch or read a book. We welcome one well behaved dog. Please make sure to include the dog in your booking so we will know to leave out a dog bed, dog towel and bowls. There is a small additional charge for the extra cleaning/washing etc. IMPORTANT NOTE: The stairs are typical Norfolk Winder with a tight turn at the base, steeper and narrower than normal. There is a wooden handrail on one side. It is NOT recommended for anyone with mobility issues or parents with infants, toddlers or young children.
Had a wonderful few days here with the dog; lots of walking, despite the weather! Lovely little cottage, beautifully presented inside, stylish, super clean and neat as a pin! A really thoughtful welcome pack was left by Daniel too. Perfect spot for exploring the coast and north west Norfolk. I'd recommend Daniel's cottage to anyone.
A very welcoming, cosy cottage with a welcome pack of fresh bread, jam and Norfolk cookies! The cottage is very well equipped and a lot of thought has been given to visitors’ needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Daniel was an excellent host. Always responsive and informative with his communication. Cosy Quince Cottage is a beautiful little cottage in a perfect location to local amenities. I highly recommend the Old Store bakery for breakfast. We also enjoyed a nice meal at the Rose and Crown which is also within walking distance of the cottage. We spent our time visiting the beach and exploring the local area. I highly recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a break away on the coast of Norfolk. Thank you Daniel. We are hoping to visit again in the future!
We absolutely loved our stay at Quince Cottage! Daniel was an excellent host and the little finishing touches made us feel right at home. Would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in the beautiful Norfolk countryside.
Snettisham village is located near the coast with easy access to the Norfolk North Coast. It is situated 5 miles from the coastal holiday town of Hunstanton and 4 miles from the much-loved country retreat of the royal family at Sandringham.
Around the corner from the cottage you will find the popular Old Store cafe/bakery, The Michelin guide listed Old Bank restaurant, the award winning Rose & Crown pub and the small but well stocked Co-op supermarket. There is also a pharmacy, doctor’s surgery and vet all within walking distance.
Standing above the village, St Mary’s Church dates back to the 14th century. It is particularly prominent for its outstanding tall spire (172 feet high) and would have been an important landmark for mariners navigating The Wash in earlier times.
RSPB Snettisham provides all-year round spectacular entertainment in the form of bird watching; Snettisham Woods and Ken Hill offer great nature walks.
Free street parking is available all around Snettisham.
The local cafe/bakery, pub, restaurant and supermarket are all within a minute or so walking distance of the cottage.
You can also start several local walks from the cottage. For further afield activities a car will be needed.
