Welcome to our private guest house in our most beautiful Historic homestead (formerly Old Cran House) You have complete privacy and a separate entrance along a paved pathway to the front entrance. Avalon on Bourbong was built in 1894 by renowned architect FH Faircloth for the local Sugar baron Robert Cran. We chose to rename it after our daughter Avalon as she is like sunshine entering the room, also respecting our local indigenous who endured less than ideal working conditions under Mr Cran. The space is luxurious and unique, separate and private with sound resistant walls (not 100% soundproof) Also included is a photo props treasure chest, feel free to tag us in. For the weary traveler is a small pantry of basics if needed as nobody sleeps well when hungry.

Ligt nogal afgelegen. Je hebt een auto nodig om overal te komen. Het huis en gastsuite is erg mooi en sfeervol. Wel aan de prijzige kant.
Probably best hosts so far. The accommodation and location are just perfect in all senses. The typical Queenslander house is fully renovated and the garden around is just pristine and very well maintained. Hosts were not only very professional with all the indications for check-in, use facilities and surroundings but also very friendly and accessible during our stay. We really felt at home from day one and supported when needed! They even got us a Outdoor BBQ to make us feel even more Aussie. Thanks for having us.
I loved Carla’s accomodation. It was renovated beautifully and had quality linen. Everything was thought of. It was perfect for our stay and we will definitely stay there when we travel to Bundaberg.
This is one of the best places I've stayed. Everything felt luxurious and well throughout. The fridge was stocked with little goodies and all the furnishings were beautiful. Great location and easy access. Couldn't recommend Carla's place enough!
This is such a delightful place, with serious attention to detail and squeaky clean. I had issues with Wifi but Carla was really responsive and offered solutions. I was recommending it to all my school parent friends!

We are in the hospital precinct so the houses nearby (apart from next door) are heritage homes originally built for the doctors and specialists in the area to have quick access to their patients.
It is safe and quiet although work day business hours are bustling but still not noisy. We have a whole property security system with cameras and floodlights used primarily for deliveries and visitors as the house is so big we would never hear or see them enter and it certainly keeps everything secure when we are not at home as we get real time notifications on our phones.
You can opt for car hire to visit the outer regions such as Mon Repos, Bargara and Kinkuna national park.
There is a bus stop literally outside our gate and orange electric scooters you can hire and ride all around town.
Alternatively you can catch an Uber or opt for a cab/taxi 13cabs, we are very central to most things here.

Welcome, my name is Carla and I love spending time with my family & friends, especially making time to laugh each and every day. My husband Joe & I enjoy food, art, culture and travel. We have a son and daughter and a gorgeous grandson. My small dog is Poppet who is my constant companion as she is always near. We have been married nearly 40years and still can't believe we live in this magnificent historic home in Bundaberg, we feel truly blessed.
