All the other things were great but we should have checked the neighbourhood better before booking that. Apartment was stunning and Eduardo was an amazing host but we made a little mistake in choosing the area where to stay.
The apartment is perfect for the long stay in the winter time for those who works remotely. Double function air conditioning, a lots of light, good equipped kitchen, very close to the beach, so you can make a long walk or run at any time. Highly recommend!
The flat is located in the area called "La Escollera", at the beginning of the promenade at the widest and quietest beach of Cullera, which has one of the six blue flags of this town.
In just a few minutes walk you can find supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, shops of all kinds, in short, you are in the centre of the town centre.
The municipality of Cullera is situated on the banks of the river Júcar and next to the Mediterranean Sea; it is 30 km from the capital, Valencia.
The river Júcar flows into this town, irrigating the entire municipality of Cullera, by means of an irrigation system designed in the Muslim period.
The Júcar also irrigates practically the whole of the Ribera Baja region. Apart from the river Júcar, there is also the Estany lagoon, located in the southern part of the municipal district, which flows into the sea; this is a popular fishing spot.
To the north and in a nook of Montaña de los Zorros, there is the San Lorenzo lagoon; a large pond surrounded by reeds and with the autochthonous fauna of the Albufera natural park.
The municipality of Cullera extends along a plain, whose only elevation is the Montaña de los Zorros (muntanya de les raboses), with a maximum height of 233 m above sea level, being the last spur of the Iberian system before reaching the sea. The name of the mountain is due to the fact that at one time it was inhabited by many rabbits, which meant that the rabosa or fox was also found in the same habitat; although it is rare to see any specimens, except on rare occasions.
It is worth mentioning that this mountain has always been inhabited and used as a watchtower due to its geographical location, from which all the surrounding area can be controlled, a fact that is confirmed by the Muslim castle, later reformed by the Christians, which at the beginning of the 20th century was again reformed to house a sanctuary. Much more recent is the fort on the highest part of the mountain, dating from the time of the Carlist wars.
It has a dry thermo-Mediterranean climate with annual temperatures of over 18 °C. The vegetation is made up of orchards, orange trees, rice fields, olive trees, carob trees and fruit trees.
It also has a tiny islet called Peñeta del Moro off its coast.
Cullera, together with the municipalities of Valencia, Alfafar, Sedaví, Catarroja, Masanasa, Albal, Beniparrell, Silla, Sollana, Sueca, Albalat de la Ribera and Algemesí, forms part of the Albufera natural park.
If you are travelling with an electric vehicle, there is a charging point less than 100 metres from the flat.
Given its privileged location, if you wish, you can forget about using your private vehicle or any other type of public transport.
However, there is a taxi rank and a bus stop 10 minutes' walk away, which will take you to almost the entire city.
The communications with Cullera by car are via the AP-7 motorway (exit Favara-59) which connects with Valencia, Alicante, Barcelona. It connects with the European network.
The National N-332 (where the first section of the future A-38 is located) links the city with all the towns along the coast, as far as the south of the Valencian Community.
The Nazaret-Oliva road (CV 500) connects the northern part of the city with Valencia along the coast. Madrid can also be reached via the A-3, connected to the AP-7, in three hours.
By plane, the nearest airport is Valencia airport, located in Manises, 40 km from Cullera. There is also Alicante airport (El Altet), 150 km from Cullera.
There are train connections between Valencia and Gandía every half hour and every fifteen minutes at peak times. There are also connections Cullera - Madrid (Alaris train, RENFE) and also with the AVE-Alvia in summer, within the Madrid-Gandia section.
By bus; regular bus lines to Valencia and Costa Blanca (Autobuses ALSA), to Madrid (Avanza Bus), to the north of Spain (BILMAN Bus).
