This Charming 4 Bedroom Country Home with a Wrap Around Covered Porch is located on the Fredrick Farms working cattle ranch nestled in the Red River Valley, just 8 miles north of Saint Jo, Texas. Blue Ostrich Winery and Vineyard is located on the Fredrick Farms property also and is walking distance from the Guesthouse. Our Guesthouse is located in a remote country setting across the street from the popular Blue Ostrich Winery & Vineyard. This Guesthouse experience was created to provide a tranquil and relaxing getaway in the rural setting of the Red River Valley; a place to breathe easy and enjoy a good book or the pleasant company of friends and family.

This was my second stay at Ashly's place. It is a lovely and very comfortable place for a group of ladies enjoying a getaway. We would love to stay here again in the future. Ashly is kind and very responsive and helpful. She is a great host!
Excellent place to stay in the Texas wine country
Perfect location for exploring the area wineries and the lovely town of Saint Jo. The Blue Ostrich Winery and Vineyard is located just across the road from the Guesthouse. Check-in was flawless. Our host, Ashly, provided her phone number to text with any questions. Better yet, she responded quickly. She was also very responsive to all my questions leading up to our visit. Everything looked just like it did online. Roomy bedrooms with comfortable beds, clean bathrooms each complete with soaps, toiletries, and hairdryers. The kitchen was very tidy and well-equipped with everything we needed to cook full meals to share with our friends. The living and dining areas were perfect for our group. It felt like home. Wonderfully quiet and peaceful area. The outdoor rocking chairs provided the best location for sipping coffee and watching the sun come up.
We had a great time at Blue Ostrich. The house was perfect for our book club and a great location to access the local wineries around Muenster and Saint Jo. The beds were great, bathrooms clean and the kitchen was well enough outfitted. Response was great when fire alarms started chirping. Took care of us!
The house was perfect. First night we thought we would stay again next year. Later changed our mind after dealing more with host. I should have backed out when she emailed me the list of strict rules after I made reservation. Issue#1 I knew that kids were not allowed to stay all night. Our niece (her new baby), nephew (13) wanted to visit one evening. Ashly's parents live across the driveway, so I texted Ashly to let her know that they were going to be coming. She told me that kids are not allowed & they could not visit. I replied that I am aware they cannot stay the night but never mentioned they couldn't visit. She never replied. Issue #2 I got a message from her stating that because we had 6 people & not 4 like we had planned there was an additional charge of $25 per person per day. The house sleeps 8 people & we had 6. Why was it posted to rent for a certain amount if the amount varied by the number of people staying? That was never mentioned prior.

Being located down in the valley, a mode of Transporation is needed to go from place to place if desired.
