You will be staying on the south shore of the island of Funen in the south/middle of Denmark with easy access to quaint towns, local and regional activities as well as daytrips to Copenhagen or LEGOLAND.
The villa is located at the foot of Svanninge Bakker (Svanninge Hills), which together with Svanninge Mountains and Sollerup Forest is the largest contiguous forest and nature area on the island of Funen. The area is also called the Funen Alps.
The historical market town of Faaborg:
You have just 5 km to the cozy market town of Faaborg, where there are shops, cafes, museums, a beautiful harbor environment with a harbor bath and small ferries to the tiny islands of Bjørnø, Lyø, Avernakø and Ærø.
Bathing beaches:
The entire area is full of bathing and swimming opportunities. Try, for example, the fresh Dyreborg Beach at Knold/Drejet with a view of the island of Lyø, the quiet and child-friendly Damsbo Beach in Faldsled lined by beautiful forest, Klinten Beach with the promenade boardwalk or the popular Faaborg Harbor Bath.
Swimming pool:
If the weather is not for outdoor swimming, you can visit the well-equipped indoor swimming pool in Faaborg (5 km) with slides and toys for the kids, sauna, extra warm pool, ice pool - and much more.
Hiking:
The famous Archipelago Track winds through Svanninge Bakker and there are plenty of opportunities for short and longer walks with some unique views of nature, the South Funen Archipelago and the Baltic Sea. You can start your walk or hike right from the house - no need for a car!
Golf:
At Faaborg Golf Club you can play golf in Svanninge Bakker on perhaps Denmark's most beautifully situated golf course, which also has an absolutely fabulous view of the South Funen Archipelago. It is a unique nature experience.
Mountain bike:
The area is pure heaven for MTB at all levels. Gåsebjerg Sand Bikepark and Svanninge Bakker are ready with red and blue flow trails, several pump track courses, short and long jump lines and Funen's longest downhill run.
Playground:
Close to the villa, you will find Denmark's largest nature playground, Gåsebjerg Sand, with Alfeland for 3-6 year olds, Troldeland for 6-10 year olds and Huleland, where it is possible to build caves.
There are also bonfires here, where you can grill or enjoy yourself by the fire (you must bring your own firewood). You can also use the "picnic house", where there is plenty of space under the roof.
UNESCO Geopark:
The South Funen Archipelago Geopark (which includes Svanninge) faces certification by UNESCO as one of the world's 140 geoparks in 38 countries. In the geopark you will find lots of experiences in geology, cultural history and nature.
Angling:
Helnæs Bugt is known as one of Denmark's best sea trout areas. You can fish directly from the shore with flash or fly.
Faldsled:
The charming village is 6 km away. Here you will find the famous inn Falsled Kro and several other places to eat, e.g. the cafe on the campsite, Vejkanten and Vandkanten.
If you are planning a dinner at Falsled Kro and don't want to drive home, you have the option of ordering a flextaxi at an extremely reasonable price (typically under DKK 50).
LEGOLAND:
The family amusement park is 133 km away (an hour and a half drive) - a popular day trip for families with children.
Odense:
H. C. Andersen's birthplace is 35 km to the north. There are plenty of activities for the whole family in Odense, such as shopping, restaurants, amusements and museums. Don't miss the new H. C. Andersen Museum, which is a fantastic experience for both children and adults!
Copenhagen and Tivoli:
You have 191 km to Copenhagen. You can either drive or take the train from Odense (an hour and a half by express train) or the train from Nyborg (one hour by express train). Please note that there is free parking at Nyborg train station.

There are two parking spaces in the driveway directly in front of the house and more on the street. The local bus stops at the door, so older children and young people can possibly get to Faaborg on their own.
The garage is private and may not be used for cars, but may be used for storing bicycles, strollers or luggage.
