Perfect and outstanding, even relative to other high-end and amazing Airbnb houses. The area is private and remote. You can see some houses across the valley, but you don’t see nearby neighbors. It feels entirely tranquil and private. Þórir is an amazing host. We arrived shortly before a snowstorm. Light by Icelandic standards but felt big to us: 20” of snow / 50cm with bigger drifts. Þórir was in constant touch, made sure we were doing well, and lobbied the municipal snowplow service to clear our driveway as quickly as possible. We visited in mid-March. Everything is snow-covered, and the valley is so beautiful when it’s not cloudy. Akureyri is an easy 20 minute drive to the west. We have stayed in some amazing houses over the years, and this one measures up. The level of service and the details were just one click better, an extra high level of service and attention to detail. Perfect house, perfect host, perfect location, perfect stay. The highlight of 2 weeks in Iceland.

This accommodation was exceptional. We are also hosts, and I understand what goes into running a good business. The entire process was seamless; inquiry, booking, arrival and directions, communication while there, check out. This place was actually better than we expected. The home and outdoor space were luxurious. The lighting, amenities, bedding, pillows, etc. all exceeded expectations. The listing photos are beautiful, but they honestly don’t serve justice. There is a thermostat in each bedroom. Thick bedding. Extra towels. Stocked kitchen. Snacks. Toiletries. Netflix. Laundry. We would 100/10 recommend. This was the best stay of our trip so far. I truly believe it will be one of the best accommodations we will ever stay in. Thank you again!
