The Lodge is set on the site of a Victorian rural former Railway Station which is now our home.
The area is stunning and home to many native wild animals including rabbits, squirrels, stoats, otter, hedgehogs, Fallow and Muntjac Deer. There is an abundance of birds including Woodpeckers, Jays, Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Tits, Wrens, Robins, Cuckoos, Buzzards, Red Kite and Tawny Owls.
Bordering the River Lugg it's banks are a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest. This year has seen the final stages completed of the new Herefordshire Wildlife Trust project at Oak Farm which is just a five minute walk away.
This really is an idyllic setting located on The edge of Bodenham Nature Reserve (which has one of the largest stretches of open water in Herefordshire) where more than 170 species of bird have been recorded. Only 12 minutes drive from the cathedral city of Hereford and 10 minutes from the market town of Leominster at the heart of the Black and White Village Trail.
For those wanting to explore all that mid-Wales has to offer, it is a mere 30 minute before you are in glorious Welsh countryside.
The Lodge is also well positioned as a base for Hay-on-Wye which is just 45 minutes away.
Ludlow and Ledbury are 30 minutes distant and not forgetting the wonderful Cotswolds which is an hour's drive from the Lodge.

There are many, many walks to enjoy as well as hidden gems to discover.
Bodenham Village (a short 5 minute drive or 45 minute pleasant walk along a lovely rural lane) offers a local village shop and garage as well as the popular England's Gate. This 16th Century public house offers good food and a large beer garden in a rural setting. Marvellous!

Although set in a rural location we are only a short drive or 20 minute walk from the A49 which provides access through to Hereford and Leominster. With regular bus services.
