Absolutely loved my stay here - sitting out on the deck and reading in the evening was a highlight for me. The house is impeccably well kept and spotless - I will be staying here again whenever I’m in the area!

Captain's Quarters was perfect for our family as we traveled the North Shore of MN. The place we clean and had everything we needed. Jennifer was friendly, provided easy directions and was quick to respond. We would stay again when we have more time. My boys LOVED the foosball table and walking down to the dock, which was a short walk from the property.

The instruction was clear on how to get into the house. There were small nice instructions throughout the house on how to use things. We could see how the owner arranged things for the guests sensitively not just to show that things were there but for good use. (ex. pans, thermostat, TV, towels, blankets, microwave and etc.) We really liked the dining hall area. As a family of five, the cot was surprisingly nice to sleep in (nice as bed!). I was a bit worried because my parents are from Africa and are not used to the cold. But, the house stayed warm with no wind seeping through. The heating system was clean as well. Some of my family have allergy to dust mites and it didn't trigger while we were there which is something since it is very easy to have the ventilation system, carpets, sofas, and bedsheets to be unclean. The house was very clean and organized. I would come again if I were to come in future. It was nice to stay with five family and a dog.

Much love has gone into this older home, which had elements of a 1921 home I once lived in (distinctive 6-panel doors, high ceilings, wood moldings, arched livingroom entry, normal age-related settling plaster cracks, similar layout with enclosed front porch and small bath). This was quite possibly the Cleanest overnight stay I've had in the past year. My morning message to host was promptly answered. The deck is Amazing. I quite literally was only in town to sleep, arriving after 11pm. I loved the close proximity of Hwy2, to Caribou and Kwiktrip. Suggestion to host(s): Solar lights or reflective markers outlining designated parking pads would have been beneficial in the dark.
