You've just found a truly unique place to stay. Kick back and relax in this private studio with a queen-sized bed, kitchen, bathroom, and enclosed porch; Located inside a large renovated 1840's building in the heart of historic downtown Frederick, this 2nd-floor walk-up suite comes with access to our clubhouse floor with a big kitchen, living room, library, and backyard and our coworking space (Cowork Frederick) - all shared. Your newly renovated, private, studio has a queen size bed, a dresser, wall-mounted TV, kitchen, bathroom, and an enclosed porch. It's located inside a former home in the heart of historic downtown Frederick that was built in 1840. The "clubhouse" floor (shared space on the 1st floor) has plenty of spots to relax and connect with others in a large kitchen, living room, dining room, and library. Need to knock out some work? Grab a desk in our shared office coworking space (Cowork Frederick), or (for an additional fee) reserve a private office by the day. Note: this space has mostly had longer-term stays, so doesn't have a lot of reviews. This location provides the perfect opportunity for a weekend get-away. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, and other activity locations in downtown Frederick, MD. This was my second time staying at this property and I am already planning my visit for next year. Glen and Julia have always been incredibly responsive, courteous, and have provided explicit guidance on arrival, access, and everything else I needed to know in preparation for my stay. This location is a true gem.
Another great stay in the Co-Work suites! The suites are cozy and private, and the downstairs Co-Work area is a great place to get some work done.
Staying at this charming suite in historic Downtown Frederick was an absolute delight. The location was perfect, with easy access to restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and public transportation – we even took a day trip to DC via train. The suite itself was thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed, and we loved the opportunity to mingle with other guests in the shared coworking space downstairs. The blend of classic charm and contemporary flair in the room's decor really captured the essence of the century-old building while exuding a vibrant, modern energy. What stood out the most was Julia's commitment to sustainability and supporting local businesses in running this space. We look forward to returning to Frederick, and when we do, choosing to stay here again will be an easy decision!
We enjoyed our second stay at Glen and Julia’s. We made a point to book early so we could stay for the holiday weekend and it was as wonderful as expected. Julia made sure we had everything we needed and is always friendly and helpful. We enjoyed walking around downtown, finding interesting shops and amazing places to eat. Carroll Creek Park is always a treat to walk and enjoy. This location is perfect for it all, and very comfortable and private.
This place has an unbeatable location. We enjoyed being able to walk out our door and be right in the heart of downtown Fredrick. Glen and Julia were both very kind and great hosts, offering local recommendations and being very hospitable. If you are looking for a great Fredrick experience, this is the perfect place to stay!

We're located in historic downtown Frederick, a uniquely living and breathing historic arts and entertainment district. Walkable tree-lined streets have two- to four-story brick buildings with beautiful architectural detail. The area is known for its more than 200 galleries, specialty shops, eateries, and craft breweries and distilleries. There are also many parks, including Carroll Creek Park with fountains, an amphitheater, and over a mile of footpaths.
While you're here, we generally recommend parking your car in a nearby city parking garage and walking (there are many places to shop, eat, drink, and play within just a few blocks). Or, leave your car behind. We are located just 1/3 of a mile from the Frederick Transit Center.

We have lived in Frederick since 2009 and love being downtown, so if you need any tips on places to eat or things to do during your stay we can definitely help. We stayed at our first Airbnb location back in 2014 and loved the experience so much, we decided to renovate a space in our home and become hosts ourselves. We started hosting guests in 2017 (earning our current Superhost status). It was a great experience and convinced us we want to do more of it. In 2012 we launched a coworking space (Cowork Frederick) in downtown Frederick and have been blessed with a fantastic (and growing) community of freelancers, digital nomads, social impact entrepreneurs, and remote workers. In mid-2022 we embarked on a new adventure, expanding our coworking business to include 5 coliving apartments. We're so into the idea of communal spaces, we sold our previous home and moved into one of the apartments ourselves! We love to travel and have been to nearly every state in the U.S. and also to many other countries including Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece, Venezuela, Mexico, the Netherlands, and Japan. We're friendly and would love to share stories or a meal at a local restaurant, but are OK with giving you your own space if that's what you prefer. Honestly, though, our whole "thing" now is about connecting and sharing. We highly recommend spending time in the common areas of our new building so you can meet others.
