I had a four nights stay at Junko‘s place and liked it very much as it immediately gave me the feeling of visiting my Japanese aunt. The house is in a quite residence area with all necessary shops and bus stops close by. some sightseeing spots are in walk distance, but for the city centre you would need to take the bus. The house is old style and especially the garden is worth to appreciate in the morning time with some coffee or tea. Junko is very friendly and always approachable for questions. This immediately gave me a homey feeling. I also loved the cats, which are welcoming the guests and for me added to the homey atmosphere.

Ms. Kuroda was extremely welcoming and a joy to be around. She was great at communicating with me despite my limited Japanese abilities. She also encouraged me to join her singing lessons which I loved! Very judgmental free and provides wonderful feedback, meditation time, tea and treats! It was wonderful to share this experience with Ms. Kuroda and other guests. I really loved the room, I was also provided with endless items to keep me warm when the weather got colder. Everything in the room was clean when I moved in and in proper order and function. The restroom and shower are cleaned regularly! And it’s the perfect area to get around to so many beautiful places to visit! If I can, I would love to stay at the Wakuoan again.
