Beautiful place!! Perfect for what we needed. Amazing g views. Dara and Shelley were absolutely amazing hosts. So accommodating and helpful. Answered all our inquiries quickly. Made us feel like family. Will be back again when the chance arises.

Slater House is beautifully restored, spacious, welcoming and extremely well appointed. The hosts exceeded our expectations in regards to necessary items and accessibility. The kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms and living areas are well stocked and comfortable; it feels like a squeaky clean family already lived there. We came in the chilly autumn and the house has responsive heat in every room. There are lots of areas to spread out: big kitchen and dining room; a sunny reading area, a cosy living room and an enclosed porch and more. The back yard is lovely with a few trails and we could watch deer as we washed the dishes. Slater House is about equidistant between Parresboro and Cap D’Or/Advocate Beach which is perfect for exploring. We loved our stay at this peaceful home and would come back in a heartbeat.

A cozy and lovely home. Beds were very comfortable, and we found everything we needed. Clearly the hosts have made an effort to ensure the home is as comfortable and functional as possible. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend to anyone, especially during the fall colours!

This is a beautiful spot in the country with awesome views of Fundy. The house, with full kitchen, provided what we needed. The backyard had tons of room to walk and Dara supplied us campfire wood for free. He gave us passes to the Age of Sail museum, which was well worth visiting. He ahd many brochures and maps for where to go. Unfortunately, it rained for 2/5 days so we couldn't fully explore the area and the mosquitos were annoying. There is much more to see & do so spend time here! Be advised that the water pressure and internet wifi are weak, so don't expect more. Cell phone service is spotty in rural Nova Scotia. When we locked ourselves out, Dara came to the rescue quickly. We recommend this house for families with a pet.
