Literally translated as "the white rock", the Roucas Blanc district owes its name to the rock on which it was built. Bordered by the Roucas Blanc road, it extends from the Endoume district to the Corniche. The old secondary houses of the wealthy families of Marseille can be found there, giving the district a very bourgeois character. Its fame comes from the 19th century, when the public utility of its hot spring was recognized. A thermal establishment was built, with treatment areas, pools and fresh water swimming pools. Restaurants with panoramic terraces and luxury hotels were also established in Roucas Blanc. Today, there is the famous Sofitel Palm-Beach hotel which has preserved the hot spring that made the reputation of the area.
A stroll between land and sea
Located in the 7th district of Marseille, between the Old Port and Notre-Dame de la Garde, the residential area of Roucas Blanc in Marseille offers exceptional views. While walking along its small streets, you will discover many stairs that will lead you to the heights, revealing sumptuous landscapes: Notre-Dame de la Garde perched on its hill, the Corniche district, the different islands, their forts and castles, and the sea as far as the eye can see. A soothing stroll allowing you to recharge your batteries far from the city's tumult, while discovering the richness of Marseille's cultural heritage. While walking, you will be able to see the Talabot castle which stands out in the landscape with its coppery red hues. Don't forget to settle down on the terrace to have a drink and contemplate the landscape before going for a swim in the waters of the Roucas Blanc beach.

Bus 83, 584 (night bus) links the old port to the Prado via the Olympic 2024 water sports centre and the Plage du Prophète at the foot of the house.
Connection every day from 6am to 9pm every 7 to 20 minutes and for the night bus until 1am.
Stop "le prophète" at the bottom of the house.
