Our property is located in the serene neighborhood of Ponderosa Heights, right next to the Lincoln National Forest. This area is known for its beautiful views of the Sierra Blanca Range and the valley below, and the opportunity to spot local wildlife in their natural habitat.
Despite being tucked away in this peaceful location, we're just a quick 5-minute drive away from Ruidoso's restaurants, shopping, and entertainment options. The nearest grocery store is also just a short 5-minute drive away.
The neighborhood is safe and secure, and our 1.5-acre plot of land offers plenty of privacy and quiet. Ski Apache is about 30 minutes away by car, while the casino and horse racing track are only 15 minutes away.

Parking
We want to make sure your arrival at our property is as seamless and stress-free as possible! While parking on the road is the quickest and easiest way to access the upper level, we understand that some guests prefer to park elsewhere.
If you do choose to park down below, please be aware that the driveway is quite steep. For this reason, we recommend using a 4 wheel drive vehicle, particularly if there is snow or ice on the ground. Our priority is always your safety and comfort, so we encourage you to exercise caution and good judgement when navigating the driveway.

Driving in winter
When it comes to winter driving, safety is our top priority. As we're located in the mountains, we do experience snow and ice during the colder months, which can make driving conditions challenging.
To ensure that your trip is as smooth and enjoyable as possible, we recommend checking the weather forecast before your arrival. If there has been recent snowfall, we strongly suggest using a 4WD vehicle or purchasing tire chains to help you navigate the roads safely.
Tire chains can be ordered easily and conveniently on Amazon Prime with just a few days' notice, or purchased from a variety of shops in the Ruidoso area, including Walmart.
We do want to remind our guests to exercise caution while driving, particularly as the cabin is situated in the mountains, where snowstorms can be quite heavy at times. By being prepared and taking necessary precautions, you can enjoy a safe and worry-free winter driving experience.
