We had to check in through another resort who had no idea what was happening and showed us their rooms instead....When we finally got the issue solved, the first hut they showed us was leaking and they were very much not prepared for anyone checking in as they had us wait for quite a bit while they swept the room and cleaned and put the sheets...The huts were cute and cozy although I requested one big bed and ended up seeing 4 small ones scattered around a tiny area. Maybe there was a miscommunication there. In any case, I think 4 beds to a room in that small area is a bit much. You could always opt for bunk beds and have a little living area or table, at the very least. It is close to another resort where you can get food from and ask about their dive packages. The concept of the mud hut is definitely awesome, I just wish the execution was better. Thanks again for letting us stay. Despite all the confusion, I would still highly recommend this place.
We immensely enjoyed staying at the mud house with the white sand beach in front of us and sprawling lawn all around. We put up hammocks and tents , bonfires and grilled s'mores , vegetables and every minute we spent there was quite memorable and fun. The resort and restaurant was nearby which was quite convenient. We had massages and got a lot of freebies from their Easter event. And yeah, the staff was very efficient and friendly. We extended our stay and plan to come back again. It was an awesome and very lovely Holy Week vacation at the mud house. Thanks Martina!
The mud huts are a perfect secluded and peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Whether you're a local in the Philippines or a visitor from overseas, the mud huts will not disappoint. Along with other reviews, it is recommended you bring your own items such as toiletries and food should you wish to prepare you're own, however we found the restaurant at the resort to be reasonably priced with outstanding food and beautiful views of the resort side of the beach. The mud hut itself is located at the quieter more campsite feel of the area and it really is quite a peaceful place where you can enjoy sound, quality sleep on decent beds with mosquito net, open air bathroom complete with shower with good pressure and connection with the surrounding environment. I highly recommend it to any nature lovers as well as anyone in need of quality R&R. A great asset to the eco-tourism of Negros Occidental.
The place is unique and quiet. I suggest that you settle all your needs with the housekeeping the moment you arrive (like requesting for a grill, room transfers, etc.) since the mud huts are a bit far from the resort lobby. The restaurant in the vicinity caters to the occupants of the mud huts, so food isn't really a problem. The huts need a little maintenance though, since a few of its fixtures (i.e. lights, toilet flush, power and water supply) need some checking. Overall, the place is a nice escape from the urban jungle. It's a good place to relax and unwind.
The place was great! Just a few steps from the beach and place was perfect for our christmas party. I was just a little bit surprised of the pricy additonal persons charge as i was not informed beforehand. But the place was really great. And the assistance from the staff of Punta Bulata Resort was exceptional, as always.

TRAVELING FROM BACOLOD CITY
***By Private Car
From the city center (provincial Capitol Building) of Bacolod, travel southwards, taking the national highway. The resort has two access road point that you choose to take.
1.) A few meters after the 154 kilometer marker by the road, make a right turn into a side road called Barangay Road, Cartagena (bä-rang-gi ,kärtähénä). Travel 4 km. down this road until you reach Punta Bulata Resort.
*Please note that the 4 km. side road is unpaved. Small cars are capable of taking this road but it is still recommended that you take an AUV, Van, or SUV vehicles for a more comfortable ride.
2.) Upon reaching the Municipality proper of Cauayan, the travel will take about 30 minutes – 40 minutes to reach the resort. On the right side of the national highway, you will see a small store called “Quadro D’ King”, 500 meter onwards you will reach the Bangga Salamat Po access road, from there take a right turn and travel down to Punta Bulata by 2.5 kilometers.
***By Public Bus
Ceres Liner has several trips throughout the day that may take you southbound towards Punta Bulata. From Ceres Liner’s Southbound Terminal (Lopez-Jaena Street, Shopping, Bacolod), take the bus headed to Hinobaan or Bayawan (he-nö-bä-än ,bä-yä-wän). Buses depart every 30 minutes from 6:00 am to 7:30 pm from the Ceres Liner Bus Terminal in Bacolod City. It takes about 4 – 5 hours to get to Punta Bulata Resort by bus.
There are only two air-conditioned bus everyday that departs at 12:00 pm and at 2:00 pm. You must get off at Barangay Road. Cartagena (bä-rang-gi , kärtä-hénä) or Bangga Salamat Po since the bus cannot take you directly to the resort. Board a tricycle and ask the tricycle driver to take you to Punta Bulata Resort.
*Tricycles may not always be available at the drop-off point. We encourage all guests to pre-arrange your tricycle pick-up at our Front Office or Booking Office.
