Mein Aufenthalt bei Maria Elena war mit Abstand das Beste was ich in Kuba erlebt habe. Ich wurde wie ein Familienmitglied behandelt und fühlte mich vom ersten Moment wie zuhause. Die ganze Familie war großartig, sie haben mir tolle Ausflüge organisiert und waren sehr großzügig. Ich bekam sogar einen Kuchen zu meinem Geburtstag! Die Unterkunft liegt etwas abgelegen vom Zentrum, wodurch sie sehr ruhig ist. Man ist direkt an den Wander- und Rittwegen und man erspart sich den Straßenlärm. Elena ist eine großartige Köchin, ihr Essen war sehr lecker und üppig, weshalb keinerlei Notwendigkeit bestand, in einem Restaurant zu essen. Sollte ich ja nach Kuba zurückkommen, werde ich auf jeden Fall dorthin zurück kommen! Ich kann diese Unterkunft 100% empfehlen!

Maria Elenas casa particular was so perfect for me. While it was very affordable, clean, beautiful surroundings and welcoming; the two things that made it an absolute must were the food and the proximity to climbing. If you are a climber in Vinales,this is THE place for you. It is at the end of the dirt road where yo turn off for climbing. Therefore it reduces your approach from about 30 minutes to 5 minutes for the main crag destinations like Cueva Larga. Her family will even walk you to the crag so you can get your bearings. Second for a very small additional fee, you can have breakfast and dinner at the house and she will pack you a small lunch for climbing! Her food was simple, local, fresh, clean and amazing. We were told (though never had to because we were so satisfied) it can be hard to find good food in Vinales, so having breakfast ready with fresh fruits/fruit juices before climbing and a huge dinner of local food prepared after returning was unbelievable. I highly recommend!

María Elena es maravillosa, amable, atenta y siempre muy pendiente de que sus huéspedes estén cómodos, además te indica lugares de interés ya que conoce la zona mejor que nadie. La casa es muy bonita y está impecable, además cenamos la mejor comida de todo nuestro viaje en Cuba, comida tradicional riquísima. A la casa se encuentra en un lugar tranquilo rodeada de naturaleza. Si visitas Viñales no lo dudes, la casa de María Elena es la mejor opción.

We had a wonderful time in Viñales and Maria Elena's house was the perfect place to stay. It's not right in the center, but just ten minutes walking from the main street (the village is quite small) where restaurants and bars are. The house was very clean and spacious: there is a private dining room where brekfast and dinner (ask Maria Elena to cook you dinner, it was the best food we had in Cuba!) are served, a bedroom with two comfy beds and a bathroom with a nice big shower. We realxed sitting on our private porch, after a long day horsebackriding in the Valley where the house stands. Maria Elena is a caring host, she helped us organise many different activities. I hope to be back in Viñales one day and have another lovely stay in Maria Elena's house.

Frequento Viñales anche per lavoro e di solito dispongo di un mio alloggio, ma per motivi di ristrutturazione ho dovuto cercarne uno temporaneo e con Maria Elena sapevo di andare a colpo sicuro. Da lei ti senti subito a casa, sei trattato e coccolato come un membro della famiglia e se ti serve qualcosa puoi star certo che si farà in quattro per accontentarti. Mi ha apparecchiato sulla terrazza una squisita cena con specialità che difficilmente avrei trovato altrove e mi sono goduta le luci del paese a distanza immersa nella natura proprio all'entrata del parco nazionale e della Valle del Palmarito. La sua posizione è unica perché anche se a soli 10 minuti dal centro, è vicina a tutte le attività che amo di piú, i sentieri, i percorsi a cavallo e le pareti per le arrampicate. La casa di Maria Elena è un crocevia frequentato da tutte le persone del quartiere, una volta qui vi sarà facile prenotare tutte le migliori attività che offre Viñales e ciò che vi serve per proseguire il viaggio.
