We are neither a hotel nor a youth hostel, but a great alternative to both: it is a place for everyone who appreciates an open, colourful, uncomplicated and warm atmosphere, who likes to meet people from different corners of the world, who likes a little more space than only the hotel room, who would like to cook something for him- or herself, who is looking for a “home away from home” – and that at affordable prices. As we are a very small hostel, we are particularly suitable for single travellers, couples and small, quiet groups of up to 4 people. We have a total of 7 rooms (single, double and multi-bed rooms (max. 4 beds)) as well as a guest kitchen and a living room. The rooms are equipped with a bed, a bedside table with light, a chest of drawers or similar, and in some rooms we also have a desk + chair. It's best to take a look at the photos to get an idea of what it looks like in our hostel :) Each room is a little bit different and we can't tell you in advance in exactly which room you will end up staying (but you will of course be in the room category you booked!). The prices are affordable because you share the bathroom, kitchen, living room and possibly also a room (dorm - if booked) with other guests. The bathrooms, kitchen, shared rooms and all other shared areas are thoroughly cleaned every day.

Alles ist total liebevoll und gemütlich eingerichtet und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Außerdem war alles ssauber und es gab die Möglichkeit selbst zu kochen und dort gemütlich zu frühstücken. Kann das Hostel nur weiterempfehlen :)
Great spot! The communication with Anje and Rei was seamless and the common spaces so clean and inviting. :) There was even a dry and locked storage spot for bikes. Would 100% stay again and can certainly recommend.
Wir haben eine Nacht im Hostel verbracht und waren zufrieden, da alles sehr gut organisiert war.
Sehr gemütliche, heimelige Unterkunft, in der ich mich sofort wohlgefühlt habe. Durch die Lage sind Neu-Ulm und Ulm super zu Fuß zu erkunden :)

There is Ulm. And there is Neu-Ulm. Both actually look like 1 city, but there are actually 2. The Danube flows between Ulm and Neu-Ulm. And as the Danube forms the border between Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, Ulm and Neu-Ulm are not just 2 cities, they are actually in 2 different federal states!
We are on the Bavarian side, in Neu-Ulm. A very nice place in Neu-Ulm is the bank of the Danube. It's a great place to sit down and enjoy a coffee or Aperol from the "Ufer-Bar" with a beautiful view of the Danube and its water sports enthusiasts in front of the Ulm skyline.
And in a few minutes you are "over the bridge" and directly in the beautiful old town of Ulm. Here you will find everything your heart desires - "old town architecture" with half-timbered and crooked houses, restaurants, stores, ...
From Ulm train station by bus: Take bus no. 7 (direction Willy-Brandt-Platz über Neu-Ulm), get off at the bus stop Schützenstraße and walk against the direction of the bus for about 50 meters. You will find the Brickstone Hostel on the left side (no. 42) – welcome! (The entrance is not in the Schützenstraße but in the side street " Stadtgasse".)
By car:
We have space for one car in our courtyard. If this place is available, you can park your car there.
Otherwise, there are free parking spaces in the Schützenstraße, about 400 meters down the road (direction: out of town – after the railway bridge, to the left of the road).
The parking spaces directly in front of the house are payable between 9 am and 8 pm (parking ticket) and the maximum parking period is 4 hours, Saturday from 6 pm and the whole Sunday they are free of charge.
However, as in most city centers, finding a parking space is not always easy...
There is also the alternative in the parking garage at Petrusplatz (approx. 250 meters away).
Shopping facilities, restaurants, Ulm city center - everything is within walking distance.

Ursprünglich komme ich aus dem schönen Blaubeuren (ca. 20 km von hier), war dann einige Jahre im In- und Ausland unterwegs und nun seit vielen Jahren in (Neu-)Ulm zu Hause. Auf Reisen habe ich Hostels schätzen und lieben gelernt, um 2007 letztendlich selber eines zu eröffnen. Seit einigen Jahren habe ich eine tolle Mitarbeiterin, Rie, die sich mit ihrer japanischen Gastfreundschaft und Herzlichkeit auch gerne um all eure Belange kümmern wird.
