We had the best time at Casa Manati! Highly recommended Paradise!

We had a great stay at Manati house! It's a very simple house on the river, but it had everything we needed. It was very relaxing sitting on the porch or the dock, watching the boats and birds go by. There were no other guests when we were there, so we had the house to ourselves, which was awesome! It might have felt a bit crowded if there were others there. One thing to note: once you are dropped off at the house by boat, your only means of transportation is the kayak that Julio leaves at the dock. You will need it even to get to the little store a few doors down. We didn't realize that we were expected to pay to use the kayak ($75 Q per day), when we paddled down to buy some provisions. It should really be included in the rental, as you are pretty stuck without it! You can't really walk anywhere, as there are no roads or paths to get around. Other than the kayak issue, Julio was very helpful and responsive, and even picked us up in his boat and brought us to Livingston (for a fee).

Wir hatten eine exzellente Zeit im Casa Manati! Es ist der perfekte Ort in der Natur gewesen, um zu entspannen und sich zu erholen. Wichtig ist, vor dem Aufenthalt in Rio Dulce alle Lebensmittel einzukaufen. Ansonsten gibt es einen kleinen Shop gleich neben dem Haus, das man mit Kajak erreichen kann, aber der Shop hat nur eine sehr kleine Auswahl an Lebensmittel. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Wir haben uns immer selbst etwas gekocht. An zwei Tagen haben wir Julios Kayak ausgeliehen. Das war unvergleichlich schön. Wir haben sogar Tukane und Manatis gesehen! Die heißen Quellen sind gleich um die Ecke. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Très bon moment passé chez Julio! C’est en plein milieu de la jungle au bord du Rio Dulce, accessible uniquement en bateau. Très bel endroit si vous souhaitez être au calme et loin de la civilisation :). A environ 30 minutes de Livingston, accessible en « Cayuco » pour 30Q par personne. Un Kayak est disponible au cas où vous voudriez voguer sur le Rio, aller aux restaurants avoisinants ou aux eaux thermales naturelles qui se trouvent à 500m. Je recommande si toutefois vous n’êtes pas arachnophobe 🕷️. Julio est très réactif. Un soir, nous manquions de gaz et le problème a été réglé en 10 minutes.

Really enjoyed my time at Julio’s place. It’s rustic, peaceful, secluded, and you must rent a kayak or boat to go anywhere. The only thing nearby is a little shack where we bought some eggs, vegetables, and other items to cook with. And you can also walk next door to Julio’s house and buy beers from his sweet family. We had fun fishing, relaxing in the hammocks, and kayaking to the nearby Agua Caliente and cavern. There’s also a great restaurant with water slides and a rope swing. Julio is super friendly and helpful. We arranged our Siete Altares/Playa Blanca/Livingston tour thru him. And he was a lifesaver during the panic of helping us find a solution to get to Honduras the next morning. He may even offer to let you drive his lancha :) Helpful tips - bring insect repellent, groceries, and cash for kayak rentals/lancha transportation/tours/activities
