Villa Azul is a gated property, with beautiful sunrises & sunsets from your 2nd story private patio. Overlook the ocean and jungle while listening to birds and watching monkeys, butterflies & parrots play. The salt water pool and deck are there for you day & night. Sit on a rocking chair, practice yoga, read or stargaze. Chairs & loungers are available for your use. Free High Speed Starlink Internet Only a 6 minute drive to Samara ~ enjoy the many dining options, shopping & beaches. The dirt road leading to Villa Azul was just repaired 16 January 2024, however, we still recommend an SUV, 4WD or ATV. This is a 2 Bedroom with 1 shared bathroom (Jack & Jill style). Each room has it's own entry door from the patio, it's own mini fridge and bar sink. Rooms are located on the 2nd floor - must be able to walk up stairs. *Please Note: Villa Azul is not suited for children between ages 1-7 due to its elevation and no gate around the pool. High Speed Starlink Internet is included in your casita and in the pool/deck area. Private patio overlooks the beautiful ocean view and has amazing sunrise & sunset views. Non-smoking property. Gated property. Quiet hours 10pm - 7am

Lisa et Ted sont des gens extraordinaires. Ils nous ont accueilli comme si on était leurs amis. Ce sont des gens avec un grand coeur et tres recevants. Tous les matins, le café nous était servi sur la terrasse et on pouvait contempler le paysage. Nous avons observé les singes et c’était tout a fait grandiose!! Ted et Liza nous ont référé des endroits magnifiques que seul les locaux connaissent. Leur propriété est tout a fait sublime et l’accès au village se fait en quelques minutes en voiture. Si vous passez par Samara, vous vous devez de réservé votre sejour chez eux. Vous ne le regretterez pas. Encore une fois, merci pour tout Lisa et Ted car votre hospitalité a été bien au delà de nos attentes !

We immensely enjoyed our time at Lisa and Ted's place. The space was perfect for our family needs and the hosts were kind and wonderful . Highly recommended !
This was the perfect location for our family of four. We stayed four nights in March. The beaches of Sámara and Carillo are both within a ten minute drive and even during the busy Semana Santa week it was easy to park and find a shady spot under a palm tree at either one. We also had a great time on a sunset Zipline tour. In between activities, we spent long afternoons escaping the heat on Lisa and Ted's breezy, shaded terrace, from which we saw coatí, iguanas, howler monkeys, a woodpecker, and a family of white-faced capuchins. The outside kitchen worked great for preparing meals. Highly recommended.
What can we say? Samara is amazing, and Lisa and Ted's incredible place sits above it all. A wonderful, breezy escape for Costa Rica adventures. Howler monkeys galore. And Kitty, the adorable and ever-present companion. Lisa and Ted were excellent hosts and their place is not to be missed!

Only a short drive from town located behind a gated drive, Villa Azul offers plenty of free parking. The dirt road leading to Villa Azul can be a challenging for a 2WD vehicle, so a 4WD vehicle or ATV is highly recommended (especially during the rainy season) - for all of Costa Rica.

Hola! We are Lisa & Ted. We are thrilled to welcome guests from all over the world. We are relaxed and welcoming - staying with us will feel like you’re staying with friends or family. We do our best to make each guest’s stay wonderful & memorable. Please read our reviews – we’ve hosted amazing people! We are both California natives that used to call Colorado home, until… Costa Rica entered our lives! We have lived in some beautiful and wonderful places, with Costa Rica being our next chapter. We fell in love with Playa Samara during our travels around Costa Rica and we decided to make it our permanent home.
