This was a quick stay over to break up a long drive. While Bernice was very good at communicating, I feel the house does not look or feel like the photos portray. It is very rundown looking from the outside, almost to the point we thought this could not be the house. It is better on the inside, definitely more cosy, but as an older villa-type home is quite small for 4 travelers and their luggage,and not well insulated. We were very warm in the day - opening all the windows, but quite cold during the night. The layout is also a bit strange, with the toilet in the back of the house - not the most convenient as the sink and shower are towards the front. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was functionable for our needs, but overall it is overpriced for what it offers.

It was peaceful. Bernice was wonderful in keeping us informed and alerted as to bushfires that were in the area at the time . Very proactive and helpful.

The cottage was just lovely and had everything anyone could want, plenty of room, good beds, cosy warm fire. The immediate neighbourhood had more houses than I expected but it was quiet. Brontë lagoon is 5 minutes away with a beautiful lake and birds and wildlife. We used the cottage as a base for hiking in lake st Clair NP and it is very convenient for that. I only had need to contact Bernice once just to ask for a slightly later check out time and she responded instantly and told us not to rush but take our time which was really nice. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in the cottage.

I could not recommend Bernice’s place more highly, a beautiful well appointed comfortable cottage well located for exploring western Tasmania. Bernice is the most wonderful host, friendly accommodating and extremely helpful.
