This boutique motel is really sweet! Wonderfully redesigned and refurbished. Comfortable bed, well appointed room. I would love to have arrived earlier to be able to use the cool fire pits! Also I hope to walk their hiking trail the next time. For anyone who is noise sensitive, do bring white noise or ear plugs because the walls are thin. We slept well with white noise! But before that we heard everything from the rooms next to us. I still loved the location, the outdoor space, and the adorable shop with coffee!

It was a rainy and very foggy day leading me to cancel my outdoor afternoon plans. Your host was very understanding and let me check in early. The room was clean and comfortable. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Beautiful inside and out! It was the perfect respite after touring some of the local 151 breweries, cideries and vineyards. We would stay again!

Looking for a place to stay because of the bad weather coming in. I found this beautiful place right off the interstate. I settled in with a warm cup of cocoa and waited for the snow. I woke up to a beautiful snow covered wonderland. The trail right behind the lodge is the icing on the cake. I got to hike through the snow to the top and none of the views disappoint. My room was clean, clutter free, and just what I was looking for. If I’m in the area again and there’s a room open I’d definitely stay again. It’s only about a one minute drive from West trailhead. I would reckon the lodge to anyone looking for a place in the area.

Grey Pine Lodge is located on Afton Mountain in Waynesboro, Virginia, 1/2 mile north of Exit 99 on I-64.
It's a Hiker's Paradise! The Blue Ridge Pkwy, Skyline Drive, Shenandoah National Park, and the Appalachian Trail all converge 1/2 mile from our front door. The Blue Ridge Tunnel Trail is literally across the street!
Fan of Craft Beer & Wine? Nelson151, Monticello Wine Trail, Shenandoah Beerwerks are all nearby and we can provide recommendations for transportation.
Downtown Waynesboro is a 5-minute drive with lots of local restaurants and things to do like Basic City Beer Co. and Blue Ridge Bucha, boutique shopping, and grocery stores.
The lodge is also just a 20-minute drive to Staunton and a 25-minute drive to Charlottesville, both which have a charming downtown featuring preserved historic architecture, a vibrant art scene, and delicious local food and dining options.
