A 10-acre estate set high upon a hill where ocean views collide with mountain breezes, a paradise unlike any other beckons to be experienced. Iya Ites—local dialect for Higher Heights— is a private property in the John Crow Mountains of Port Antonio, hidden in a lush tropical forest overlooking the crystalline waters of the Caribbean below. Far away from the noise of the tourist crowds, Iya Ites is your invitation to an exclusive and authentic Jamaican vacation. The estate at Iya Ites features five separate accommodations that can be rented individually or combined to host up to 11 total travelers. Breakfast is included with each stay, and additional meals may be arranged with the on-site chef. All additional meals including beverages and bottled water come at an additional cost. All guests of Iya Ites enjoy the communal use of our large pool and cabana, open-air yoga loft, restaurant and lounge, and gardens. THE NANNY HOUSE AT IYA ITES This listing is for our UPSTAIRS EAST guest room, one of four private guest rooms that comprise The Nanny House. Each identical guest room features three sets of French doors leading to an oversized balcony from which to enjoy the endless views. Many guests opt to leave the doors open, allowing the refreshing mountain breezes to fill the room. Birdwatch or stargaze from your private terrace. This room accommodates two guests and includes one queen-sized bed, an en suite bathroom, glass top table for two, accent chair, and mini fridge. Please note: If both upstairs or downstairs guest rooms in The Nanny House are rented, doors between the rooms can be left open to "connect" the rooms to accommodate travelers with young children. What a beautiful place! This place is such a pick. We loved our stay here. The hosts were so welcoming and always helpful (and we loved Marie's cooking!). It felt very homely and was a place of escapism too. The views are stunning from the house and the surrounding area is just as beautiful to explore. Coming from the UK we felt like we experienced lots of the "real" Jamaica staying here / Port Antonio. We would absolutely recommend!
Iya Ites were incredible. Marie and Noel were amazing too. Preparing delicious meals and collecting us from the airport. The location overlooking Port Antonio was breathtaking. We could watch the sun rise and the sunset all from our very own balcony. Port Antonio is definitely worth a visit. In particular Frenchmans Cove, Boston Bay and the Blue Lagoon are all must see. Noel can drop you off and collect you, but you’d need data to contact him which is expensive if used daily. Plus he’s not always available when you need as he also drives other guests. I recommend hiring a car. Noel helped us with this for £35 per day. We barely spent $2000 Jam dollars for 3 days of petrol. It’s easy to drive around all beaches are on one road. The only downside is that you can’t walk around town, there’s no centre with nice restaurants and shops. The staff recommended that we didn’t also for our safety. Also the walk down from the air bnb is VERY steep and not ideal in heat. 5 days is plenty of time.
The staff were brilliant but the place needed some tlc broken tiles around the pool some paint refreshing needed in communal areas

Iya Ites is less than 10 minutes from the town center of Port Antonio. Some guests walk to and from The Nanny House to town where one can find abundant choices of buses, shared cabs, or private taxis. Most guests opt to have our team call a taxi for them to be picked up directly from Iya Ites.
We can arrange for a private airport pickup from either airport for $150-220 USD. For a more economical mode of transportation, Knutsford Express offers services from both airports into Port Antonio.
