Timberwood Tiny Home is a place to rest your head & heart in Efland, North Carolina. The peaceful retreat, designed for adults, is down a country road approximately 10-minutes from downtown Hillsborough. The 200 square foot tiny home is on a private corner of 8-acres shared with our main house. It features Scandinavian-style details, two beds, a spacious porch, abundant natural light, a wood-fired hot tub, barrel sauna, cold plunge, and much more. @timberwoodtinyhome We designed Timberwood Tiny Home to be a retreat for you alone or with a close partner or friend. It's a peaceful place located on an old organic vegetable farm we are working hard to restore to its original glory. We share the property, but the tiny home is across the field from the main house. You may see us in the garden or taking a stroll, but we value privacy as much as we know you all do. However, we are always happy to say hello and offer local recommendations. The tiny home is small in square footage but big in personality. It was built by our friends in Tennessee and features Scandinavian style details. The open, one room interior features white-washed spruce pine and an oak floor. There are two beds - a queen in the main space and a twin in the a-frame loft space, which is accessed by a ladder. Please note that we do not allow children in the home. As is most things in a tiny home, the kitchenette is in the main space. It features a two burner induction stove and a small refrigerator and freezer. Because of the small space, we recommend planning for very simple meals that don't require a ton of cooking, enjoying one of the nearby restaurants, or planning a bbq meal outside. We offer beautiful dishes from East Fork pottery. You'll find local coffee & tea options on the shelf and inside the fridge, sparkling water, non-dairy milk, cream, and fresh eggs from our coop (when in season and for two nights stays). A selection of sweet & savory snacks are included & we will share vegetables from our garden when in season. The bathroom features a full-sized shower, small vanity, and toilet. It is fully stocked with extra toiletries. A small TV hangs on the wall and we've already signed you into Netflix. Our Wifi is a pocket wifi system and works better than nearly all others here in the country. We frequently work from home, and it works great. Outside, you'll find a large porch that's nearly the size of the tiny home itself. We invite you to enjoy the rocking chairs, fire pit and grill. The stars out here are also fantastic. Behind the home, there's a path that will take you to the cedar wood-fired hot tub, a cold plunge bath, and a two-person cedar sauna. You'll have to prepare the hot tub and sauna a little ahead of time, but that's perfect for enjoying a glass of wine or popping out for some takeout. Because the space is new, some of the landscaping needs to mature but there is ample privacy. The electric, cedar barrel sauna is truly glorious and heats up to a toasty 150 to 160 degrees in about an hour. You'll have a bucket of farm grown rosemary and water for steaming.
