Come stay at the Prickly Pear Casita at Cat Mountain! Located feet from Tucson Mountain Park and Cat Mountain Station, this location is perfect for nature lovers and style hunters alike. The space was built around a John Wayne museum in the 1950's, but converted into three 1,200 sq. ft casitas in 2023. The colorful décor in the space is locally sourced and curated to have an open and bright layout. The Casitas are located in Cat Mountain Station. This area hosts a café, a retail store, an observatory and 2 separate hotels. The grounds are full of Sonoran native plants, expertly cultivated by landscape architect Doug Larson. There are walking trails to a labyrinth, as well as our resident desert tortoise, Juanita Wayne. The Prickly Pear Casita is a one bedroom, one bath with an office. The bedroom has a queen bed, the office has a full sized fold out sofa. The space has a full kitchen and boasts an impressive walk-in shower.
This place was beautiful, private, comfortable and very close to great hiking. The drive into Tucson was easy and there were great places to eat and explore.
Amazingly beautiful and perfectly decorated place. The location is ideal. The setting is stunning. The place is SUPER CLEAN! We are definitely coming back!! Highly recommend.
