Explore the neighbourhood and discover local gems just steps away from your doorstep. Lancaster town centre is an 11-minute walk to the Market Square. On the way to town if you walk up Longmarsh Lane, within 7 minutes you are at Lancaster Castle (Castle Hill) which has a trendy café that looks out onto the Inner Ward of the Castle. Next to the Castle is the Storey, a café with a nice patio area. Then you pass the Merchants which is a traditional 16th Century pub with arched wine cellar areas to sit in and a pub garden.
If you are on your way to the Lake District by train, the station is a 6- minute walk from Longmarsh Lane, and the train Station has a beautifully renovated pub, The Tite and Lock on the Platform. There is also a Costa Coffee and a small newsagents on Platform 4 entrance. There are three ways to walk to the station from Longmarsh, depending which Platform you need.
Sainsbury’s can be reached several ways, but the Cycle Path on Longmarsh Lane near the train is 6 min can walk along the path almost opposite the house which takes you on a short cut to the 15th Century pub in Lancaster called the Mariners. The Mariners is a Grade ll listed building, accessible along the Quay 5 min. or through the estate is 10 min. If you are visiting or working at the hospital it is a WALK and the Grammar School is time. The Bus Stop to Lancaster University is outside the train station, or near the Cricket Grounds behind the house. If you have a car, there is parking both outside the front and back of the house. Though not designated parking, because the Lane is residents only, there is always parking within yards from the front or back door.
