Takachiho, Nishiusuki District · 农家乐里的独立房间 · 1室0床1.0卫 · 可住4人 · Authentic taste of rural Japanese living
An incredible opportunity to experience and partake in a truly authentic Japanese rural way of life. Your room has all the privacy you could want but you are equally in the middle of our country home and farm surrounded by mountains and fresh air. From the minute you arrive, you are surrounded by the smell of drying hay; the gentle mooing of our contented cows, delightful birdsong. All around are our exquisite mountains, rice terracing and wild flowers.
This is the second time I’ve stayed at the Tasaki’s farmhouse and we loved it! A truly authentic Japanese family experience. The views are beautiful, the room is very traditional and lovely, and the futons are super comfy. Tomoko and Tomonori are so welcoming and helpful and speak great English so it’s easy to communicate.
Wir haben die Zeit bei Tomoko sehr genossen. Wie selbst war nicht da, als wir dort waren aber ihr Mann und die Schwiegereltern haben uns nett empfangen und waren stets hilfsbereit. :)
Their family made me feel very welcomed and comfortable in their home. Beautiful scenery and location. The room was very nice and was provided water and snacks. Would go here again and recommend to anyone staying in Takachiho wanting to experience culture in rural parts of Japan!
Lovely stay with Tomoko and family. A very unique authentic experience, hence willing to pay more than otherwise.
We enjoyed our night at Tomoko's place in a beautiful tatami room. The futons were very comfortable and the sheets were perfect for the warm temperature. The Air conditioner also helped in that regard. Tomoko's husband greeted us very friendly and showed us around the rooms, making sure that no question was left unanswered. He also entertained multiple requests of us. The surrounding area has a stunning scenery and we did certainly not regret coming here!
Why is our area resisted as one of Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems in the world ? Why is our are chosen as one of the best 100 rice paddies in Japan? Why is my town very holy and important place for Japanese especially in terms of Shintoism( Japanese religion) and mythology? What is Japanese authentic farmer life like? How do my family grow rice and breed Wagyu cows? Let me explain them (or more if you want) when you stay at my house! The area is renown for its cultural heritage with many of the Japanese myths taking place in our valley which are enacted through dance at one of our temples. Our spectacular Takachiho Gorge (10 minutes drive) also features in these classical myths. You can take a wonderful walk down to the riverbed and enjoy a relaxing row in a rented boat whilst pondering on the incredible volcanic rock formations. Amanoyasukawara shrine (7 minutes drive) is a beautiful, evocative mythical cave where people place stones to make wishes and is greatly loved here in Japan. Mount Aso is the greatest active volcano in Japan and is among the largest in the world. The marvellous one hour drive through the mountains offers stunning views and fun stops on the way like a smoked salmon restaurant; a surprising tunnel park; hot spring baths; natural springs, temples and waterfalls.
