The historical Carter Plantation dates to a Spanish land grant in 1804. While no longer the working plantation of Cyprus, Pine and Citrus, today's golf resort incorporates the forests, wetlands and indigenous plants and grasses which has earned Carter Plantation a membership in the elite group of golf courses listed on the Louisiana Audubon Golf Trail, part of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary for Golf Courses program. There is no public transportation in the area, and while Uber and Lyft are typically available, we recommend renting a car or driving to make the most of your stay. Parking is available to guests in the driveway and directly across the street.
Carter Plantation Villas are a short 5-10 minute drive to Warsaw Marina, Boopalu's and and several other river hotspots. If planning to do some boating, you're a short boat ride to Blood River. Tickfaw River, Lake Maurepas, Lake Pontchartrain, The Prop Stop. and the world famous Blood River Landing, the home of the Tickfaw 200 Poker Run.
New Orleans is only 45 minutes away and Baton Rouge is only 35 minutes. Ponchatoula is 10 minutes away (home of the Strawberry Festival and numerous stores downtown)
The villa is very clean and well-kept and has enough space for your friends and has other units available should you need more space to bring friends & family. Guests have the entire place to themselves
