A quiet neighbourhood with less than 700 residents, this town makes an excellent quiet get-away whilst offering exciting winter sports, available throughout the season. It has 35km of piste, found just 3km from the town, 26km of which is Alpine-style piste and so suitable for all levels of skier. Ski hire and lessons are available locally.
There are a handful of restaurants in the town, some offering rustic cuisine typical of the region Abruzzo. There are also a couple of bars for those looking to enjoy the 'après ski'.
There are plenty of other things to do if you fancy a break from the slopes; there is the historic centre of Rivisondoli, with some churches to visit and also 'Santuario della Madonna della Portella'. The town also features an archery range for those wishing to hone their Robin Hood skills.
To wind down and relax, you can visit the 'Terme Alte' spa just outside the town.
