Relax with family, friends, or enjoy a solo retreat at this peaceful place to stay in the country. Chestnut House was built in the early 1940s, with Wormy Chestnut wood everywhere! It is a unique home, with an apartment built over a garage / wood working shop.. then connected to the main house later. This space available to rent is separate and fully functional from the main house where we live. Enjoy 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, full kitchen and living area.. along with the large outdoors! Quiet and surrounded by nature of the country.. A retreat and getaway. You will enter through the ground floor into the garage / woodworking area, then immediately up a flight of stairs into the apartment home. There are two bedrooms, with one full sized bed in each room. Available if needed is a thick inflatable full sized mattress on a frame to use in the living area. The sink for the bathroom is in an alcove of the one bedroom, with a standing shower and toilet in a room connected - as seen in pictures. Recently added a movable partition for increased privacy in the bedroom connected to the bathroom (see pics) - thanks to recommendations! The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, stove, microwave, and refrigerator. There are basic kitchen items like silverware, cookware, dinnerware, spices, pans, etc. Coffee pot with coffee and tea available in the kitchen as well. I'm happy to provide other food or drink items upon request! The back bedroom has large double barn style doors that open into the backyard, stoop, and patio with a fire pit. To stay cozy in cooler mountain temperature, there’s extra space heater and heated mattress pad (on the back bedroom bed) as options. In the warmer summer months, fans will be available and a window a/c unit will help keep temperature comfortable in the main living area. Just a note that the water is from a good deep well. But if you're not used to well water, it can smell a little odd! It is safe, conditioned, and treated.
