A warm, waterside welcome awaits you in Arnprior, Ontario, Canada, which is located about 40 minutes west of Ottawa, the country’s capital.
This villa on the river is situated in a very quiet area, just outside of town. As already mentioned, with river access from your private dock, there are plenty of things to do in the water, like fish, swim, and canoe. You can even hire a boat from the nearby marina.
Guests who prefer staying on dry land will most likely love to explore the MacNamara Conservation Trails which can be accessed just across the street - great for walks and bike rides. If you’re visiting in winter, skiing in the large mountains close by will also be an option.
Other places you might want to visit include:
Gillies Grove – home of Ontario’s tallest tree which rises up 45 meters.
Robert Simpson Park – enjoy great views of Ottawa River and access to the beach.
The Museum – take a break from the outdoors and head inside to explore the history of the local area.
Local breweries – take a tour and taste the local beers and ciders.
Amprior Golf Club – head here for a round on an attractive course with welcoming members.

It’s highly recommended that you drive to the house, as there’s plenty of free parking space on the driveway as well as on the street if you need it. Once here, you might want to swap car for canoe and explore the river at the rear of the house, or leave the car parked up and take the 15-minute walk into town. Hiking and cycling are also options, with beautiful trails accessible just across the street.
