We built Magic Forest House ourselves. It is a work of art and a place to get away from the bustle of city life. Enjoy a secluded, private place in beautiful nature with birds, deer, coyotes and owls and other wildlife. It is just a half hour drive to town but feels remote. It's a great place to work from home! It's a 30 min drive from Oklahoma University & Norman, and a 45 min from Oklahoma City. Just a few minutes walk to a yoga studio in the woods and a spring fed creek with a swimming hole. I built this house myself with the help of my father starting when I was 14 years old. It is totally unique and original with artful mosaic and woodwork. It has a warm, welcoming feel and plenty of room. There is a three story tower perfect for watching sunrises and sunsets. This house is country living... with all of the sounds of nature, deer, birds and bugs that come with the country. It's very safe and secluded at the end of a private, bumpy, dirt road, behind a locked gate. It's on the edge of 20 acres of natural forest. This is a perfect place to get away form the bustle of city life. There are three bedrooms, full kitchen, bathroom, deck, a washer and dryer, 3 desks and blazing fast fibre optic internet with 100 mbps download and upload speed. The well water is excellent! It has been fully tested for bacteria, viruses, parasites and heavy metals. It's great water and tastes like good bottled spring water.
Very much enjoyed the stay at the Magic Forest House. It is remote and quiet just as promised. Very refreshing for the soul. Lots of wildlife to observe. Andrew didn't lie about the access road-- it can be rough, but take it slow and it's not a problem. I had a friend visit me at the house who drives a Chevy Malibu and he had no difficulty getting in or out. Looking forward to returning next time I'm back in Oklahoma.
Absolutely wonderful stay! It’s so secluded and peaceful! There were bunnies, deer, butterflies and all sorts of cute creatures! The road getting in is a little difficult but my daughter’s Mazda car got in fine, it’s just pretty bumpy. This place was a much needed break:) The connection there with nature and wildlife was AMAZING 💫✨!! Andrew was really great at communicating, great host !! I stayed here for over a month, and was sad to leave. I left the wi downs open at night, had the breeze come in and loved hearing the coyotes and owls. If you are looking for a getaway in nature, this is the perfect place!! Everything is right here without having to leave💫✨🙏🏼
Andrew and Myla were so very accommodating to my wife and I for our stay. The character limit here prevents me from adequately expressing how lovely our entire experience was. The home and surroundings were beautiful, and filled with so much soul. It was a true honor to be able to stay in such an intentionally & lovingly curated space. I also feel the need to address the 2-star review I saw here, which made me sad because it does not give this magical stay and hosts the justice deserved. The rural inroad to the property is bumpy, sure-it’s Oklahoma red clay and rock! But it is exactly as warned and described, and perfectly fine to traverse taking it slow and steady. It was the perfect preparation for the slow-paced, spirit and nature focused slow-down that this home provided us—isn’t the road to peace always a bit bumpy at first? It was the perfect place to disconnect from busyness and connect with intention to what truly matters. Our cups are filled, and we cannot wait to come back!
A great choice if you’re looking to get away from it all. The fire keeps the home warm and cozy. Thank you. A great place to relax, meditate, do a sweat lodge, or do nothing. There is a beautiful yoga studio on the property that we will make use of next time! The hosts go above and beyond.
Fulkerson Rd. is a private dirt road which we all maintain together as neighbors. We have known most of the neighbors for decades and everyone is very kind and helpful. A friendly wave is a right of passage and lets people know you belong. Everyone is very respectful of your privacy but more than willing to help if needed. There is a story which may or may not be true that Al Capone, a famous outlaw who lived in Oklahoma, used to use Fulkerson Rd. to run his whisky stills down on Spring Creek. The area has a colourful history and there is even a story of a buried treasure somewhere in Spring Creek.
Because we are in rural Oklahoma you will need to have a car or other vehicle. Uber and other public transportation don't really work.
