Lailanie’s place is a lovely apartment with lots of natural light. The kitchen is well equipped, bedrooms have plenty of storage space and we really appreciated the 2 bathrooms. The location is ideal as you have plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Parking is safe and simple to access in the basement, so we always felt relieved to leave the rental car overnight. Unfortunately, we had some issues with the bedding and towels provided, so we had to purchase our own as the ones at the apartment were very worn and old and we felt uncomfortable to use these. The beds and pillows are not the most comfortable and the couches in the living space are very stained, so we tried to avoid using these as we were unsure what the stains were caused by. There is construction work being completed across the way from the building, which made for a restless sleep but overall, the apartment is well located and very spacious, just needs some updating with furniture and towels.

The place was very clean and tidy when we arrived, and it was like a hotel had set up our stay. It was within walking distance of an Aldi, KFC, fresh produce market, nail/hair salon and much more which was great on the days that we chose to stay in or come home early to. Floor 9 had an amazing rooftop garden accompanied by an amazing view of the sunset/sunrise so I did spend a few of my afternoons up there because of this. Unfortunately for us there weren’t any extra blankets or pillows available but there was still enough for the rooms to be comfortable so not that big of a deal at all. To no fault of their own the apartment had cut off hot water to our room without informing either us or Lailanie, which was a bit frustrating but the host was apologetic and sincere about our situation. Overall it was a great place to stay whilst we were in Sydney and we really enjoyed it, if it’s able next time we would definitely go with them again.

Lailanie is a great host, very responsive when we messaged her. The place is conveniently located near the train station, close to local shops and restaurant, away from the crowds. Good value for the stay. The issue we had during our stay was that the lift was not working for the full 4 nights that we stayed, a bit of an exercise going up and down those stairs and walks. The linens, pillows and quilt covers could have been washed/changed so that it won't have bad smells. We had to rewash them ourselves before using them. Otherwise, the place itself and the bathrooms are new and clean. And a bonus to have a basement parking spot included.
