A winter wonderland! This lake house is just as good in the winter as it is in the summer. Imagine looking out the many windows overlooking the lake and distant mountain while sitting in front of a huge wood burning stove. A direct lake front cottage on a private point. The screened in porch is only 50 feet from waters edge. The fire pit is perfectly angled to enjoy the westerly sunsets. Large grocery store, shopping and restaurants 9 mins away. This classic Lakefront cottage was built in 1925 and recently renovated. Professionally decorated with a warm, cozy vibe. Full, well stocked kitchen with an open living room and dining room area on the first floor that leads to a stunning enclosed porch area with 220 degree direct lakefront view. The cottage sits on a private point on a legacy property. The first floor includes a full and recently renovated bathroom and laundry area with a full sized washer/dryer. Upstairs there are three newly carpeted bedrooms that offer two queen beds (with electric fireplaces) and a day bed with pull out twin trundle underneath. All beds and bedding are new. Please note there is only a small half bath on the second floor; the full bathroom is downstairs. The ceilings are low on the second floor and add to the sense of coziness in the bedrooms. Views are stunning in every direction. Shaw Pond looks like “On Golden Pond” but it is an active lake located in a light density community. Expect light to moderate (and occasional) boat, jet ski, and road noise when outside. Take advantage of this rare opportunity to enjoy a legacy, direct lakefront property brand new to the market.

Really enjoyed staying at Michael’s home - the views were beautiful and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. We were looking for a place to relax and call home for a few days and it was exactly that! Fireplace was warm and toasty which was a plus. One thing to note: it seems this home frequently hosts dogs and pets - if someone in your party has sensitive allergies (as did one of our members) just be prepared for some dander! Nothing unmanageable - it’s clear Michael does a great job cleaning the home, it’s just one of those things that is inevitable when living with pets. We were able to tell that this is definitely home that has had dogs in it & had to be aware to make sure our allergy sensitive member was careful about certain blankets/pillows/chairs.
The house is very nice, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you need. The fire place was nice and cozy. Location on the water is beautiful! Things I wish we knew - the water can rise very high covering the yard and fire pit area - part of the reason we selected this house was the yard because we were bringing dogs, however the yard was not useable at all so there’s no where for them to go out. The house is also on a very busy road (tractor trailers drive down it frequently) with no sidewalk, so also not ideal for walking dogs. We had to drive somewhere to walk them - luckily there are plenty of hiking options close by! There’s also a lot of noise from the near by highway.
We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful location. Michael’s home was super comfy, nicely decorated and very clean The kitchen had all we needed to cook meals. I would love to come back in the summer! What a spot!
We had a phenomenal stay. Everything was spotless and cozy. Though we stayed in February, I’m sure the screened-in porch is lovely in the summer. I would recommend this place and hope to come back sometime.
Our weekend stay at Michael's place was simply amazing. The house is decorated beautifully, clean, and very cozy with a thoughtfully stocked kitchen. We stayed with 4 adults and a dog and everyone had a great time. Even with the wind and snow howling outside it was cozy by the fire with plenty of games to play (and we even snuck in a little ice fishing!). We would love to come back in the future!

The neighborhood is a lake community. Our guests find that the surrounding property offers plenty of space for walking or walking the dog. The property sits well down and off the road but is unfenced. The outside lakefront has occasional light road and watercraft noise.
All shopping and restaurants are only 9 mins away by car. We are located in the heart of ski heaven with a ski resort in almost every direction. Butternut and Bousquet are 25 mins away and Otis Ridge is only 9 mins from our front door. We are also located on a local favorite ice skating area just outside your back door.
The Cottage is a classic Massachussetts Lake house. It’s detached, single family home with direct, private lakefront. Parking is private and onsite. Summer is all about water sports, swimming and boating in crystal clear water.

My fiancé Molly and I live in Winchester just north of Boston along with our two year old German Shorthaired Pointer named Barrington (yes, we named him after the town Great Barrington in the Berkshires!) I am a real estate agent so I often work on weekends but it gives us so much gratitude knowing the lake house can be a welcoming place for guests from all over the world to stay and experience life in this beautiful region.
