Very quiet residential quarter on the edge of La Motte village. Especially nice for early morning/evening walks and the nearest winery (Canta Rainette) is a 5 min walk.
La Motte is one of the smaller villages in the area.
In the main square there is a bar, wine-bar, bakery, town-hall (with local info), church, take-away pizza (Easy Pizza), a post office, a winery shop (with tasting) and a new restaurant (Bistrot de La Grapoe)
On Friday mornings, there is a tiny outdoor market in the central square and sometimes events (like discos/concerts).
There is take-away Thai food from a “black kitchen” - you should call to order I think.
The locals play pétanque (French version of bowls) behind the central square at weekends
About 150m down the hill, there is a very friendly cafe/bakery with a mini-market next door and, if you cross the bridge from the mini-market, there is a good restaurant (La Bohème).
About 500m beyond La Bohème there is another very nice restaurant (Les 2 Pins).
There is also a pharmacy about 400m from the centre of the village.
There is a big restaurant (La Maurette) about 2km away on the D25/D47 roundabout with a great menu and a wonderful atmosphere. Prices are a bit higher than the very informal cafes in some villages but very reasonable / about the same as the other 2 in La Motte.
All restaurants - you should try to reserve the day before (or at least before you go)
There is a very good golf course in a development at St Endreol on the D47, less than 1km beyond La Maurette,
There are 3 wineries within a 5min drive up the D25 inland, the third of which produces the now world-famous Whistling Angel rose wine.
About 2km beyond the wineries, you’ll find a hotel (Les Gorges de Pennafort) with a very upmarket restaurant.

Walking - 5 min to nearest winery and 20 min to La Motte village.
Bike - numerous and varying rides (3 adult bikes and 1 kids size); but save some energy for an uphill finish!
Car - traffic moves well except it can be slowish returning from the beach at about 5-6pm in July/Aug.
Parking can be tricky in peak - but you’ll find something.
Taxi - there is a traditional taxi service (but call to book a few days ahead).
Uber - now available and the prices seem reasonable.
Bus - from the village to several destinations (for latest schedule, check at the mayors office in the village square).
Trains - from Les Arcs (15 min drive) to most destinations but ideal for Monaco, Nice, Cannes and Marseilles (where parking is busy). Also to Paris / London.
Air - Nice and Toulon-Hyeres are both about 1 hour away with more choice of flights to Nice.
Boat (yes!) - a really fun way to travel to St Tropez is to take a boat from the marina at St Maxime
