Cobeña is a small municipality of no more than 7,500 inhabitants, located in the eastern center of the Community of Madrid and around 24 km from Madrid center. Among the surrounding towns are Algete, Daganzo de Arriba, Ajalvir, Paracuellos and San Sebastián de los Reyes. It is also located near the towns of Alcalá de Henares and Torrejón de Ardoz.
The town also has 2 schools, a library, the town-hall, a large sports-center and the San Cipriano Church declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1996, along with 4 supermarkets, 2 pharmacies, hairdressers, sundries stores, post office and police station. It also has a meadow, ideal place for grazing due to the quality and quantity of grass it produces and the multiple springs and wetlands available with a wide variety of tree species and steppe birds.
In Cobeña we celebrate 2 festivities:
- In May honoring the Santísimo Cristo del Amparo
-And October, honoring the Blessed Virgin of Rosario
Other highlighted festivities are:
-Carnivals (February): costume contest with a parade with brass band through the streets of the municipality, ending in the Plaza with sangria, chocolate and buns.
-San Isidro (May 15th): The Saint is taken out in a procession accompanied by the farmers of the municipality, who later commemorate the Saint with lemonade and buns.
-San Cipriano (September 16th): The Patron of Cobeña is commemorated, taking out the Saint in procession and ending with lemonade and buns in the town square.

Due to its location, Cobeña has public transportation between towns of Henares Corridor and the North Zone, likewise 2 of the lines that provide road transport services have a bus-stop at Plaza de Castilla interchange (Madrid). and in Barajas neighborhood (Madrid).

From Barajas you can take the subway where you can get to Madrid center.
There's also the possibility, if you arrive in Cobeña by car, to leave your car at Valdelasfuentes train station in Alcobendas or Fuencarral station (both stations are free) and travel comfortably by train to the city center.
