Based at the foot of Saint-Sever National Forest we have an abundance of pretty forest trails, riding and mountain biking routes on our doorstep.
"Vieux Château" pond, "Coulanges" pond: fishing. Nature discovery trail (with 18 discovery stations). Ermitage chapel (18th century convent currently occupied by Carmelite nuns). Arboretum. 11th century feudal mound (listed historic monument). Ornithological reserve: Gast lake (Groupe Ornithologique Normand – Normandy Ornithological Group). Orienteering and fitness trail located at the Vierge à la Vilaine junction - to name but a few!
In St Sever we have a free outdoor pool in the Summer, a restaurant in the Forest at L'etape en Foret (Seasonal hours apply) and a number of local eateries and bars in the village.
We have access to a host of bicycle routes to explore the local area as well as the rest of Normandy and France.
There is a Voie Verte accessible from St Sever. This offers 400km of family cycle routes linking the beautiful coastline with villages, historical towns, hotels and restaurants as well as natural lakes, beaches and forests.
Vire and Villedieu-les-Poêles are both cyclable within the hour - around 15km from us.
For serious Mountain Bikers we are close to the VTT Circuit Brouains.....
Practice on the 2023 XCO Mountain Bike France Cup circuit!
Set in a natural environment, in the mountains of the hinterland of Mont Saint-Michel, in the heart of a wood overlooking the river Sée, the mountain bike stadium offers all the practices of mountain biking on the same site: VTT XCO, DH, Pumptrack and Jumpline.
It offers a network of XCO mountain bike trails, which will also support a round of the XCO/XCE mountain bike France cup from 15 to 17 September 2023.
With steep descents, sharp turns, rocky areas, jumps, climbs, the course is technical and very demanding.
