Activities of Interest
1. Relax at homestay. You are already at an extraordinarily beautiful location. Enjoy the magnificent view of Bhagirathi River, Apple Orchards, Deodar Forest, Mount Srikanth and Bhagirathi Peak from the property itself. You may like to walk to the riverside also. We have a small beach (totally safe, just do not get in the river).
2. Visit Mukhba (Mukhimath), new and old temple (winter seat of Gangotri).
3. Saat Taal Trek. 3 Km one side. You will go through apple orchards and deodar forest to reach Saat Taal. Easy, day trek.
4. Jhanda Bugyal Trek. For this, you need to start very early in the morning, to be back by evening. Camping can also be done overnight with permission, camping equipment and guide. We can help arrange all this.
5. Nelong Valley, also called as Ladakh of Uttarakhand. Since it is very close to International Border, only Indian citizens are allowed, that too with permission from SDM Office.
6. Gartang Gali. State Govt renovated an old Indo Tibet trade route. Main attraction is a wooden part of the trek, made right in the center of the huge rocky mountain. Just 10 km approx. from homestay. You will get a ticket at entrance gate.
7. Gangnani. Thermal water spring, called Rishikund. Also has a temple dedicated to sage Parasara, father of Ved Vyas. 30 km from homestay, in the direction of Uttarkashi town.
8. Gangotri Temple, one of the four sites of chota char dham yatra. Highest temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga. Approximately 22 km from homestay, 30 minutes, very scenic drive. Road ends here. You can witness Bhagirathi river in its aggressive form. Be a part of morning and evening aarti. Legend related to Gangotri is a big story.
9. High Altitude Glacier Treks: Various treks, mostly difficult ones. Some popular ones: Harshil to Chitkul (Lamkhaga Pass trek), Gaumukh-Tapovan (can extend to Nandanvan), Kedar Tal, Gangotri Badrinath (Kalindi Khal Pass) also called as Big Daddy of all treks, Gangotri Kedarnath (Auden’s Col Trek). An expert team will be required for these treks.
10. Nature Photography: An area from Harshil to Gangotri is just perfect for Photographers. You have Bhagirathi river, apple orchards, Deodar forests, meadows, water streams, glaciers, greater Himalayan summits.

Often people ask, how many days are enough for Harshil. Answer is quite simple. It depends largely on your interest. Some just want to cover popular tourist attractions, some like to explore deep, some just want to relax and spend a peaceful time in Himalayas, so duration can be anywhere from 2 nights stay to months to years.
