Great location near the beach and near the main commercials centre and amenities. don’t forget to spray your room as the mosquito net is only around the bed and the Louvers are open. Great swimming pool and garden! Thanks for the hospitality!

Sylva was very helpful with getting things organised before our arrival, including arranging some shopping. Rose was a fabulous host / assistant throughout our stay. She is the dedicated staff member, who helps with cooking, cleaning, and general tasks around the villa. After a slightly rocky first day/night, we were considering whether to stay or go, but the team were very responsive and helped to resolve the issues raised. Mosquito nets were old with many holes and gaps, which was an issue, especially with young kids and infants at risk of bites, but once reported, they were replaced. It's important to deal with these kind of checks upfront, which they guys appreciated once reported. Security was initially quite lax, perhaps because it was the low season, but was significantly improved, with a very helpful guard (Jared) who helped us avoid the issues of the first night of monkey invasions. The property is well located, just a few hundred metres from the beach. The unavoidable undesirables of most beaches along the Coast were present, with some unsavoury characters quick to hassle us as soon as we walked out onto the public beach. Security could have been a bit more helpful on the first day, especially around the entrance, but were more responsive after we reported it. One thing which is fine when you get used to it, but may be an initial shock is the openness of the property. There is no locked door for the upstairs area, so we decided to move the kids into our room, for general peace of mind, considering some of the undesirables on the beach, and the monkeys that came to visit during the night and morning (which did not happen after the first night). Likewise, in the actual bedrooms, it is wonderfully airy with the wind blowing right through, which helps with the heat at night - there are no glass windows or shutters, just Swahili style brickwork, so in rainy seasons, this unfortunately means a lot of mosquitoes, so best to get either cover up very well, or get under the bednet once darkness comes, to avoid bites. On reflection, because Rose was so helpful, the chef was not really a necessity, and his meals were a little disappointing. Rose herself can cook an excellent breakfast, and helped with preparing snacks / sandwiches during the day. All in all, a pleasant stay. Maybe best suited to adult groups, or families with teenagers. Thanks to Thomas and Sylva for being responsive to our requests, given we were a group with both very elderly grandparents and a very young infant.

The place is not what we expected in terms of location - we understood that there were 2 bedrooms and a mezzanine and thought the house was on the beach hence we would hear the waves from the mezzanine at night but all we hear was the noise coming from the road behind. We could not sleep and decided to cancel the other 2 nights we were supposed to spend there (we had booked for 3 nights - 6 people)

We had a great time at this beautiful house. The house is on a bigger compound with a marine center and it’s about a five minute walk to the beach. Rose, the house keeper, is amazing and makes the most delicious scrambled eggs :-)

We had a lovely stay here. It's right on the beach, just a few minutes' walk through the resort, plus a pool & bar in the center of the property. There's security at both entrances and patrolmen too. It's a great location on the beach, next to 40 Thieves Beach Bar and a very short ride to town & other restaurants/resorts. Thomas & Sylva were welcoming hosts and very accessible; when the water went off for an evening (on a holiday) they responded right away and got it running as soon as possible. All the rooms are open (so the air conditioning is limited) which provides a really nice, open feel to the entire villa. Definitely recommended for a great stay in Diani Beach!
