Private bedroom in a mostly-finished basement. Private entrance. Fully private bedroom, shared bathroom ONLY if a guest books the other room. This is a cross between a hotel (private clean room), staying with your friend (surprise treats in the mini fridge and coffee and tea!) and a hostel (shared bathroom with **security cameras** in the hallway and outside of the home and the high probability of hearing noise from above the ceiling.) READ MORE for clarification and additional information We were airbnb guests that decided to open our homes to fellow travelers in the hopes of helping people travel affordably and in safe and clean locations. Our space is UNfinished: there is no paint in the hallway, stairs need to be built outside into our hill, a third bedroom down the hallway is not complete, and the contractor that finished the bathroom did a horrible job. However, the bedrooms, floors, bathroom fixtures, furniture, and coffee station are all ready and functional for guests :) As we are opening our home to strangers, we live upstairs of this BASEMENT unit! There are children living in this home along with two dogs, right above the guest bedrooms. There will be noise from 6:45AM to 7AM on school days and from 7AM to 8PM on non-school days. Mostly this is foot steps, however it could be the occasional dog barking or toddler being upset when he doesn't get his way. You will need to walk down a grass hill in our yard to get to the basement door (pictures included so this will not be a surprise) If any of these undesirable traits are not ideal for you, we would prefer that you spend a few more dollars to book a stay elsewhere. We have loved hosting in our home and meeting amazing people for over 8 years and this separate private basement set up was our way to continue hosting while respecting the privacy and safety of my children. Now for the GREAT stuff: **The queen mattress has been raved about by all of our guests for years when it was upstairs in another listing. **This is a private room and the only person you will encounter during a 1-2 night stay would be a potential guest in the other room. **If you stay longer than 1-2 nights, you may see us come down to do laundry or grab food from our back up fridge and freezer. I do my best to prevent or limit this and I can give you advanced notice if you'd like. **There is a high quality air filter in this room that helps with white noise. **There is a fan and space heater to help you find your comfortable temperature as well as an extra blanket. If you need more than that, just ask! **The bathroom (shared only with a potential other guest) features a large shower along with double sinks. **Every other week we hire professional cleaners to come clean and between those cleans I am down there scrubbing and changing sheets myself. **Despite me paying for a cleaning company: There is no cleaning fee with this listing! We asked you to treat our home like you would your own and clean up after yourself so that we can continue to keep costs low and help people travel affordably. **We have a small coffee station and mini fridge area set up for guests and I often set some extra treats or goodies in the fridge to share.
