Beautiful cottage tucked away looking onto stunning scenery. Great access to lots of hiking. We walked the few minutes into Holmfirth each evening to a choice of great places to eat. Highly recommend Lou & Joe’s burger place. Most places in Holmfirth are dog-friendly too. Parking for cottage up on main road but easy to find a place at any time really. Great little getaway. Would definitely go back as lots more to see after our short stay. Angela was super helpful too.
The Mallard was a lovely house and was the perfect setting. Angela was amazing and always there to help. We will definitely be looking to stay again.
A great place to unwind and relax. The cottage was really cosy with the indoor fireplace and a well equipped kitchen so you could enjoy cooking in. The little additions such as eggs, milk and orange juice in the fridge really made it feel very homely, as well as a chocolate on the bed pillows! The cottage was also in a great location with a short walk down the hill to local amenities, would definitely recommend a stay at Mallard Cottage!
Lovely property very clean and comfortable. The food and drink hamper was a very nice touch . I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place to stay.
A stunning retreat to Holmfirth. The house had absolutely everything you need. It was exceptionally clean. Plenty of space, indoor and out. The key lockbox was convenient for my arrival. Easy parking at the property. There is a beautiful atmosphere. The purpose of my trip was for work and study - I can't fault the wifi. It was so lovely to find a welcome hamper filled with cereal, cakes, milk, orange juice, eggs, fruit, biscuits, beer and water! A big thank you to a caring host.

自我介绍
I have spent the last six years hosting guests in one of our holiday properties in Holmfirth at the same time as caring for my mother, who sadly is no longer with us. Prior to that I spent over 30 years working full-time and as a volunteer in the corporate and voluntary sectors, most recently as Chief Executive of a national charity and voluntary Chair of a local children's hospice. I decided to go part-time in 2015 to spend more time caring for my Mother following the death of my Father. My husband and I bought four properties in Holmfirth where I was born and brought up, with the intention of establishing a holiday cottage business - so Your Yorkshire Time - Holmfirth Hot-Tub Heaven was born. We welcomed our first guests in 2016. All the properties are quirky period properties with original features and we hope the perfect venues for your time together, so if you're feeling in need of recuperation and pampering come and relax with us. The properties proved to be so popular that they soon become a full-time job! But one that I was able to do initially with my Mother and although it is much harder physically than anything that I have done before, helping me gave my Mum a real purpose in life again. Sadly she became very ill in 2018 and not only was she unable to help, but I needed to spend more time supporting her. But the positive side of this is that we have been able to provide work for local people who now do all the cottage cleaning and laundry for us. I now concentrate on everything else, most importantly and most enjoyably meeting our guests and making sure that they have a wonderful holiday. My motto in life is I'll sleep when I'm dead!
