Beautiful surroundings, peaceful place. Bad roads Aqua Dunhinda is a very nice place to stay. Peaceful surroundings with Mahaweli River flowing just underneath. Its manager, Sujith , was super friendly. We were planning to visit Kandy from Aqua Dunhinda . But bad road works didn’t allow us to do it. If I was informed about this prior to the visit I could have changed the plans. However,, there is a shuttle for transportation which is cumbersome when you arrive as a group. No body will deliver food outside as it is very remote. In house food was just okay. If you have your own four wheel drive then this place is good place to visit Kandy and seegiriya.

We liked the villa a lot. Just that the driver we contracted could not reach with his car the villa. We had to take another car for each way until where the car was parked. A bit inconvenient as also the luggage was transported by tuk tuk. The house is really nice and has amazing view. The AC in one of the bedrooms was only blowing hot air. They also have staff on site that provide you with lunch. In our case you could see that they where unexpierenced in hospitality which made it a bit awkward… to have them watch us while we where eating… I don’t know just my personal opinion. We asked the house manager to tell them to bring the food and no need to stick around and they made that happen so we where more comfortable. There is nothing bad to mention just that this part to us was a bit awkward. Even my review says that cleaning was not on point… it was the cleanest out of all hotels in Sri Lanka (so maybe it’s normal)

Mr Prashan and his family were incredible hosts, very welcoming and friendly. He was always on hand before and after we'd arrived. His team were great, it was a lovely stay with lots of added bonuses such as a local parade, yoga session and visit from the monks. I'd high recommend anyone travelling to stay here for a while.
