Walk along the Aarequai with a breathtaking view of the Aare and the mountains.
A beautiful promenade stretches along the Aare from the old town of Thun to Hünibach. The Aarequai and Brahmsquai are accessible for pedestrians and cyclists and offer a magnificent view of the mountains of the Bernese Oberland.
The promenade along the Aare is about 2km long. Walk from Mühleplatz towards Oberherrenhaus and Thunerhof, where children can let off steam in a playground.
A little further up the Aare is the Brahmsquai. Rest on the lawn next to the fountain with the three graces or discover the Brahms memorial under a large sequoia tree. Walk to the Hünibach boat station, from where a solar boat shuttle runs on summer weekends between Schadaupark, Strandbad and the Hofstetten boat landing.
Combine your walk on the Aarequai with a boat trip on Lake Thun and start your walk from the boat station Hünibach. While you walk towards Mühleplatz, a beautiful view of the old town of Thun opens up.

In and around Hünibach there are many exciting activities you can do during your stay at Lake Thun.
One of the most popular recreational activities on the lake is boating. There are numerous boat rentals that offer you the opportunity to explore the lake on your own or to participate in organized boat trips. During a leisurely boat ride, you can enjoy the picturesque scenery around the lake and breathe in the fresh air.
For hiking enthusiasts, a tour through the Bernese Oberland is a great option. There are countless well-signposted hiking trails that lead you through idyllic forests, past picturesque alpine meadows and to breathtaking viewpoints. Especially recommended is a hike to the Niederhorn, which is one of the highest elevations on the right shore of Lake Thun with a height of 1950m.
Cyclists also get their money's worth on Lake Thun. The region offers numerous bike paths that lead along the lake and through the surrounding valleys. Here you can experience the beauty of the region on two wheels and be sporty at the same time.
If you are interested in culture, you should make a trip to the nearby city of Thun. There are numerous sights here, such as Thun Castle or the Thun Art Museum. A shopping tour through the old town of Thun is also worthwhile.
