The listing on Airbnb does not do this property justice. We had an amazing stay and had the benefits of a home away from home, whilst having access to the beautiful hotel and spa. The property is a quaint old English house, sympathetically decorated and staged to highlight not only its age but its beauty. The beds are super comfy and the linens gorgeous. The living areas of the house were spotlessly clean. The TVs are a little small and poorly placed in some of the rooms, overdue an upgrade but functional and games consoles can connect. The kitchen is commercially set the house is used for events, it did not prevent use and we cooked a four course meal for my daughters birthday with ease. We dined at the hotel, and enjoyed breakfast there one morning which was very reasonably priced, my daughter also used the spa facilities having a facial and massage which she said was fantastic. All in all we had an absolutely amazing stay, and we are planning our return already.

We have had the most magical weekend at The Old Rectory. I live locally and have always wanted to stay at Hartwell House, so The Old Rectory was a perfect base for my birthday celebrations. It was warm and comfortable, beautifully decorated for Christmas, with squeaky clean bathrooms and deep hot baths. The kitchen is professional catering style, but we’d have been happy to cook there if we hadn’t eaten out so much. Must be equally lovely in summer, and would make an amazing base for a family holiday. My friend from London was saying that they would never think of Aylesbury for a weekend break, and that’s such a pity with this gem on the doorstep. Could happily have stayed in for the whole weekend but had lots to do in the area, Including fairyland Waddesdon and the Bucks Museum 80s exhibition. We enjoyed delicious cocktails in the stunning hotel, the history, walking the grounds, the spa. Staff were charming and clearly loved the place too . Just perfect. Thank you

Had a great stay at the old Rec. Went as a family of 5 and will definitely be back. The indoor spa was great and the grounds and home are very well maintained. The hotel reception are very friendly and responsive also. Would highly recommend booking this place.

An exceptionally beautiful house inside and out. A massive garden with a croquet lawn. The pool was fab. We had access to the hotel and spa (only for 6 years plus and children were only allowed for 2 specified hours in the day). The hotel staff were really responsive and nothing was too much trouble. We felt very well looked after. Good location with a co-op store very nearby. We'd definitely come again.
