In a "protected" site, in the middle of a marvellous Mediterranean environment - olive trees, pines, cork oaks, arbutus trees, heather - stands the tiny village of Opio.
Thanks to an exceptional micro-climate, roses and jasmine are cultivated here for the Grasse perfume industry, while the Grande Bastide olive grove produces a delicious olive oil that you can buy at the Opio olive oil mill, one of the few such mills still operating in the region. It dates back to the 15th century.
Opio has a long history. It was a seigneury of the bishop of Grasse until the Revolution.
Those who choose to spend their holidays here won't be disappointed by this peaceful setting, perfect for long walks or horse-riding in the midst of 450 hectares of forest.
Ideal for golfers the Begude and the Grande Bastide golf courses offer both 18 holes golfing in different settings and are located in 3 and 5 minutes drive.
The Vignal Tennis Club offers quite a few tennis courses, but will be closed from October 2023 for renovation. This summer you can still enjoy to play tennis under the mediterran sun.
In Opio there are a few restaurants, pizzerias and food delivery as well as 2 bakeries one which is in 300 m distance to the house.
The surrounding villages offer a multitude of restaurants notably Valbonne which is in 5 km distance and has over 30 restaurants local and international cuisine.

There is a bus stop 200 m from the house no 11 which goes from Chateauneuf de Grasse to Sophia Antipolis bus station where you can change the bus to a multitude of destinations.
