Carina was a good host who responded quickly. Instructions to get in were a little hard to understand. The address on the listing was not where we stayed. We received a call the morning of telling us we’d be staying two blocks over. I’d recommend installing a keypad so there’s no physical keys to worry about losing. The inside was clean aside from broken glass we found in the kitchen which actually cut someone’s foot. There was also half of a lemon in the fridge. There is lots of decor but way too much clutter. Every room felt like a dumping ground for extra furniture. All the decorations were Brad nailed to the wall or screwed in. The door to the actual 3rd floor apartment could also benefit from a door knob. I had to hold the deadbolt plate while trying to lock it from the outside when leaving. All in all it was fine for one night, but was very very very cluttered, like 5 chairs in every room, and the broken glass showed cleaning needs to be taken beyond just bed sheets.

I felt that the listing and photos did not match the place we stayed. The exterior and interior of the building was very cluttered and messy. It was also very confusing to find our space as there were 3-4 rentals in the building. Carina was very communicative, which helped. Our space was on the 3rd floor and the outside stairs were a bit rickety. It included 3 separate bedrooms, one bath and a very small kitchen. There was no space to sit and gather (living room or kitchen) and there was way to much furniture and decor in all spaces, making it feel cluttered, messy and not as clean as we hoped. The bedding was clean, but the beds were very high and hard to get into. One bed consisted of 5 stacked mattresses which was very strange. Our bath towels were actually beach towels that shed blue fuzzies all over us. The entire place just needed work and was not the relaxing, comfortable space we had hoped for. Carina was nice and was trying a good host. The space was just not good at all.

I booked this spot for some friends who were coming in from out of town.   As other reviewers have stated, a few days before the date of the booking, I was contacted and told that she had to switch me to another unit.  There was a ton of things going on that weekend.  Getting another airbnb or hotel was going to be very difficult.  She told me it was bigger, had one less bed but could accommodate everyone.  I looked up the new unit and she rented it for a higher amount than the unit I originally booked.  So an upgrade right?   On the day of the booking I have to go to meet her to pick up the key.  This is annoying.  Most places have the lock boxes for keys these days.  The place is a mess.  The porch has garbage and junk all over it. (The state of the porch and foyer seemed out of her control as there are people who live on the second floor). After waiting for her to arrive she texts me that the key is in the mailbox.  I get inside and am crushed.  It doesn't look clean.  There are towels on the floor of the bathroom which she tells me are bath mats.  There are 5 beds crammed together.  There are two doors that go into the foyer (which is full of junk and smells like cigarettes) If you want to access the master bedroom you have two options: climb over another bed or  through a separate door in the foyer.  That means if you have to pee in the middle of the night or god forbid there was a fire, you have to climb over someone elses bed, or take the keys with you so that you can unlock the door to enter the main room of the unit to have access to the restroom or get out.   I tell her I am embarrassed to bring my friends here.  She asks what she can do and I tell her frankly that I have no options because my friends are arriving any minute and it's too late to try and book something else.  She sweeps the bathroom floor and takes the bath mats.  There is a cord over the entryway to the bathroom that I had to move. apparently for an antenna for the tv.  You can’t access the trashcan under the sink because it is blocked by the fridge.  There are no clean hand or kitchen towels to be found and no paper towels.  The furniture is crammed in there and looks like it was picked up from the curb on trash night.  There is furniture being stored there as well.  There are holes in the wall from where something was removed across the d All this can be yours for $300 a night. Other reviewers mentioned bait and switch scam but I didn't feel scammed.  I saw pictures before hand and they matched. They just left out the major flaws. It just seems like she has too much going on to give anything the care it deserves.   I am used to airbnb having clean spaces that show the obvious care put into it by the owners.  This place felt like a truck stop motel.  She has a ton of properties on airbnb and obviously isn't able or willing to give them proper care.   She let us check out late which was nice.
