Sylvia went above and beyond to accommodate when I needed an early check-in. She was very clear about all the details of the home, and clearly wanted me to have a good time. The home itself is lovely, modern yet traditional too, with lots of great touches for comfort and convenience. Arriving after 30+ hours of travel, I slept like a baby ... the bed is wonderful! I loved making my morning coffee and enjoying it on the patio to the sound of the nearby church bells. The neighborhood is perfect, close to all of the sights and sounds of Semana Santa, cafes, amenities, and cultural sites. I had only to open the front door and feel I was in the midst of things. When I had questions, Sylvia responded pronto, with good info. This is the beginning of my first trip to Spain ... I'll be here 3 weeks in all, in several cities. Sylvia and Juan have set a high bar for the rest of my stays! Highly recommended!

Wir haben uns ab der ersten Minute super wohl gefühlt in der Unterkunft. Alles ist sehr liebevoll und auch hochwertig eingerichtet, die schönen Fotos übertreiben nicht. Silvia und Juan haben sogar die Basics für die Küche, wie z. B. Salz, Pfeffer, gutes Öl, Essig etc. großzügig bereit gestellt, was, wenn man nur wenig braucht, sehr hilft. Spülmaschinentabs, Kaffee, Wasser, alles war da. Und der Wein stand zur Begrüßung auch bereit. Es ist ruhig ums Haus und dennoch ist man von dort aus schnell im Ort und findet viele nette Lokale und Geschäfte vor. Das Parken vor dem Haus ist nicht möglich, man findet aber in fußläufiger Nähe immer einen guten Platz. Wir können den Aufenthalt im Lemon House nur empfehlen und werden bei unserem nächsten Aufenthalt in Velez gerne wieder kommen.

The Lemon House is delightful. It’s stylish, welcoming, and comfortable. I wish I lived in a house exactly like it. If you are going to visit Velez-Malaga, I highly recommend that you stay in the Lemon House. Whether you want to stay in Velez-Malaga is another consideration. We stayed for three nights, and in the end I rather enjoyed having tramped around its hilly centre, getting to know the place. But you should know this is not a lively town with people in the streets and restaurants in the plazas. This is a dispirited town. Signs strung from balconies declare “#Velezsemuere” – Velez is dying. There are no inviting tapas bars just around the corner from the Lemon House. Everything is at minimum a 10 minute walk, either uphill or downhill. There aren’t many coffee shops and only a few restaurants. An Irish bar, a restaurant called The End, and a restaurant called La Pianista del Carmen have all gone out of business. Their empty hulks just sit there, unoccupied.
